  • Hi Denny Any news on this functionality now that 9.x has shipped ?
  • Slightly off topic but might help to achieve some form of restricted access. We don't use smart card to access the Orion page but send all requests through a reverse proxy, the proxy only allows access to the Orion URL based on AD group membership. We still then use Solarwinds authentication when you've got passed the…
  • Hi Josh Exactly the same for me, we had the license error and when we uninstalled 2.0 after the upgrade and then reinstalled the problem went away. If it helps we are running APM500 on Orion SLX 9.0 SP2.
  • Thanks Mark. Do you need any Beta testers ? if so we would be up for that. I've got another two Orion deployments that we were going to migrate to one, this will save us lots of time and effort.
  • Hi Denny, when I say systems I mean they want to see a network diagram showing the components of a system, switches, routers, firewall, servers etc.. If I create a view and map all they can see from the map is nodes and links up or down. They would like to see the links change colour on thresholds for utilisation, WAN, LAN…
  • I've just made the same mistake without checking the forums first :( Can someone point me in the right direction please

  • you can do this with the custom poller in Orion, you just have to find the correct OID for each queue in the router. It is dynamic but on Cisco routers there is a command in the later IOS release to stop these OID's being dynamic. The post below has some good pointers for finding the queues but it's not simple
  • Hi Denny On a custom interface utilisation chart, set the time period to 7 days, sample interval 5 minutes and click refresh and all is ok... if you then try and set the chart width to 1200 and click refresh it stays at chart width 640.. it seem to be ignoring the chart width when you refresh and resets back to 640
  • Don331, that did the trick !!! We uninstalled and reinstalled APM via add/remove programs and all working now, and a small update to the schema for some custom properites we use.
  • You need to be on the server hosting Orion and then configure the alert through the Orion system manager, you can't configure alerts through the web page.
  • Hi Denny Bumping this back up forum... did you guys get anywhere with how SW might work with Splunk ? Any integration planned ?
  • Hi Denny When is the new product you mention to view data from multiple Orion databases going to be available ? This is exactly what we need and want. Will it be and Orion release or a completly new product ?
  • Hotfix 1 fixed the problem, thanks !!!
  • Yes this would be a great add on, i'm getting an icnreasing number of request to monitor systems not just the network. They want to be able to see one view that shows what is up/down and links that are heavily utilised that the system connects over.
  • Hi Denny, sorry for the confusion, it's not easy to explain. See attached screenshot, I've highlighted the status column showing the status returned from the F5. For each status the F5 might return the value of 1 for Green or Up, 2 for Red or down etc.. it would be good it was possible to change the colour of the table…
  • I'm getting the same :(
  • I got the same problem installing it via RDP and following the instructions to use Add/Remove programs going to log a support ticket now
  • We have a separate instance of Orion running in our DMZ to get over this problem. Hoping that EoC brings it all together in one view.
  • You can do this with basic alerts, there is an option under interface errors in property to monitor for transmit or receive discards this hour or per day. You can then set the alert threshold to be greater than x and the reset threshold to be less than x for either that hour or day.
