We really need this feature for Orion Map. Otherwise we need to go back to Network Atlas. Thanks.

The new Checkpoints software release don't accept the old SHA1 standard any more. We need SolarWinds to support SHA256 as well. Thanks.

I'm getting the same error. I verified that the SNMP RW settings are correct and we have Node Mgmt rights as well.
-
If you got NetFlow setup up you need to open that port too.

Is there any progress on simplifying changing the SMTP server on alerts? Thanks.
-
I run into the same issue myself.
-
The workaround I'm using is to create another set of alerts using the backup SMTP server. The alert is suppressed while the main SMTP server is not down. I find it preferable if SolarWinds can just add a backup SMTP server like in LANsurveyor.

Thanks for this tip. It fixed my blank page problem.

I finally set up NTP in APM. Goto APM Settings and select "Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters" on the upper left in "Getting Started with APM". I selected "Process Monitor - SNMP" since I setup SNMP on my NTP server. Select your NTP server in "Select Target". From the list of processes on your NTP server,…

I tried changing the field name from "City" to "Building" but SolarWinds doesn't work right afterwards. For example, Network Atlas won't start. I changed the field name back to "City" and created a new "Building" field and copied the "City" values over to the new "Building" field. Now everything works fine again. I guess I…

Thanks for the response. We're fixing the issue manually by ignoring the auto dependency on nodes where SolarWinds guesses wrong. Solarwinds tends to guess wrong where the parent only has one or two child/children vs relationships with many children.

I can't find the Raymond and Lae Engineering OIDs for Solarwinds. Their OID starts with 1.3.6.1.4.1.3184. A full list is at the following web site. Thanks in advance. www.oidview.com/.../RLE-FALCON-MIB.html

We would like to get a secondary email server for NPM alerts too so we only get one set of email alerts. Thanks.

When SNMP traps overloaded the database so it hit the size limit of 4GB (we run SQL 2005 Express), SolarWinds started generating lots of error messages. In just a few hours, the ERRORLOG file went from a few kilobytes to over 1GB. If your traps/SYSLOG has lots of useless messages, run a delete query to delete the unneeded…

We're currently using UNDP to monitor the CPU/Memory/Temp on the Juniper devices. It would be nice to get native support for Juniper devices to avoid the manual configuration to get that data. Thanks.

I've tried 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.3.6.3 for Cisco 2950 but got nothing. There are so many OIDs for Cisco. Is there a list of OIDs for Cisco 2950 somewhere? There are so many 2950s out there I'm sure someone else needs those OIDs too. Thanks.

For the APC, I use a custom UNDP poller upsAdvBatteryRunTimeRemaining (The UPS battery run time remaining before battery exhaustion.) which reflects the time remaining in minutes. I think APC normally uses centi-seconds which is 0.01 second for time remaining so make sure your poll gets the value you want. Otherwise, you…

I second this. NTP is something we need to monitor too as some of our devices go out of sync.
-
I would like to get the maintenance mode too so +1. Thanks.
-
Thanks for the tips. Now I need a system to track all the custom fields and ensure they are set at the correct values. :-)

Thanks for the tips.

I would like help with reports in v10 as well so I second this. Thanks in advance.
-
I'm also looking for custom pollers for Cisco 2950. It seems they are hard to find. Thanks.
-
I think the default settings are low or else your database will get filled with detailed NetFlow data. I guess if you got plenty of room for your database you can increase the retention time for the detailed data.
-
I second this request as I often see one or two chatty devices taking over the Syslog message list. Thanks.
