nathan.hejnicki when I run the VB Script locally I do get an permission error

@Johnny Ringo, I would love to hear about this. We are just trying to ping security cameras, nothing else.

I am running Orion Platform 2017.3.2 SP2

RichardLetts how detailed is your run book? Do you manger a noc or a system/network team? Who uses the run books? monitoring team? does you monitoring team do basic troubleshooting?
-
Nathan, I don't see any errors, it says the action ran successfully however the files are still there and the disk space usage is over 90% still Thanks Richie
-
I was 99.9% sure that was the case, however I was hoping someone had a trick out there thanks

I did more digging this afternoon and it appears that all the version I want to watch are in the SNMP OIDs so I am good to go. I will be using NPM with some type of an alert on change
-
I am curious to if anyone has found a fix for this? We are now having the issue and we do NOT have TLS1.2 enabled on our servers Thanks

What is the falcon installer?

So I got the bat script "file" to work as I want it to act when running it locally on the machine and as stated by the SolarWinds Docs I placed the bat script in a folder on my main orion poller "E:\Script\DeleteWindowsTemp.bat and setup an action but it does nothing when I run it against my test machine a Windows 7…

I am trying now to use a bat file I figured it does not get easier then that, I can get the files to delete via running the bat script on my test machine no issues. I have the program to run as an AD domain account, again it says it is running successfully in Orion (guessing this means that the program is triggered) but…

Loving the ideas keep them coming, I really like the runbook idea maybe I can get this added to our change request process. Really liking the JIRA idea currently we run an home brew system that is outdated and the original creator is no longer around. It was designed more for networking devices and the flow does not go…

harrisa94 take a look at this thread

I found the answer in a training video that you can run SQL Server 2012 and up as your primary Orion database as long as you are running SQL Server 2016 for your NTA database. Also once you complete the install the configuration wizard starts for NTA and that is where you define where the NTA database is going to seat.

We try to monitor and alert on critical applications, interfaces and devices. Then use reports for others that are not as critical or that can how some down time. We are also starting to work more and more with maintenance windows to cut down on false alerts, we find if the false alerting gets out of hand no one pays…

We do have QOS, not 100% sure it has been updated over the years. Our main issue is during business areas as we service the public in many locations and when a circuit is pegged it slows down that service, so the idea is to try to be proactive to a point when we see a link peg at 100% we look at scrutinizer (netflow tool)…

Figured this out

We have something in place that we wrote for NPM 11, but was hoping to get rid of the customization that we had in place and could use out of the box SolarWinds Custom Properties in a round a bout way
-
First question I have is how are you telling Orion that these circuits are Verizon circuits? Are you using a custom interface property? Most the of reports you want are built into Orion Report Writer you just have to set the correct filter when running the report. If I get some type I can upload a report that we have for…

wluther I am not sure with the Syslog report if I can get what I need the report will need to have the following headers Date Time User Name(user that made the change) Node IP Address Node Name Command Ran I was hoping there was an out of the box report for NCM that I could modify but it appears most of the NCM Reports…

I figured this out, just had to complete the work flow

No one has any ideas?
-
Figured it out, you have to execute the sql query and it MUST have at least 1 record.
-
kyle05 you got it, you only need to open up those ports to allow your additional poller to talk to your primary Orion poller, using this method makes it so you don't have to have tons of ports for WMI when collecting data behind a firewall. Another option is to use the orion agent if you have a small set of servers behind…

I figured it out, did this as stated in the KB, even though I am running NPM 12.2 it worked like a charm. Now I just need to recreate my custom tables and I will be in business Custom Resource does not display in resource picker thanks

Going to give this a try and see what happens, lol
