Unfortunately, Custom properties are not an option as they require human intervention. This all has to work without getting a person to add anything. I am trying to build a dashboard that will only show certain groups in the SINGLE resource (So limitations won't work). That is the reason for wanting the SQL Query.

HI guys. Thanks for all the suggestions! I have used the custom properties like that in the past, but in this case, it would not be efficient. For several reasons. First, we need them to be dynamically added to the groups after an automatic discovery is run. There are constant servers being added (I am talking multiple…

So I am going to bump this one time. I am looking for a SQL query that I can use in the custom SQL Query Resource that will only show me groups that start with ABC. I can't use limitations as they need to be able to access other things in the view, but for this particular resource, they only want to see certain Groups. Any…

Okay. Here is the answer. We needed to login to our server running the remote agent installer with the SAME credentials as you specify in the InstallAnywhere client. It immediately resolved the issue! Thanks! Scott

Okay thanks... I will give that a try! Scott

So I don't have access to the domain controller (In fact, I am doing the due diligence to get the domain admins to actually take this as an issue). Yes, they are in the same group name and there is no special characters in the name. Thanks

I am pretty sure that it can be done with SQL with a custom query, I just don't know Solarwinds well enough to write it. We will see if anyone else here might be able to assist. Thanks for you help though! Scott

Wow! This is very hard to believe. What is the advantage to using groups then? I wanted to use groups because members can get assigned dynamically when new nodes are added and it would lessen the re-configuration when new nodes are added.

Thanks. Is there a way of turning on logging for the entire remote process so that we can see where it is getting stuck. It is frustrating that the Remote agent installer is telling us that it is successful even though we are seeing that it is not even installing. We are looking at a large number of servers, so doing this…

Yeah... I should have mentioned that we have done the adding and removing several times and it did not help. We are using NPM 11.5 Scott

Is there a SQL Query that I could use to only display certain groups in the SQL Custom Resource? Scott

Thanks. Is there a way to do it so that it only affects that one resource item instead of the entire dashboard? I want them to be able to see other information on the same dashboard that might not have to do with those groups. Scott

Issue was the Tags in the application templates. For some reason, when I delete the tags, it showed up in the list. Once I deleted all of the tags for the Oracle templates, they all showed up on the list in the Discover Application screen.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do this. All of the options must be present. Scott

So the solution from Support was to turn off De-duplication in SW. It worked. There are several steps to do this and you need to contact SW for the steps.
