I am still unable to get this to work. According to your documentation I should be prompted for a valid user ID to the EminentWare Community website when I run the Third Party Updates Configuration Wizard but I am not. When I run the wizard it skips that screen and takes me to the proxy settings screen. I am unable to find…

dschroeder, This can be done but is a little more involved. If you will send me an email at www.solarwinds.com/customerportal we can schedule a time to walk through this. Sean -Sean

all my clients that are in the AD can be seen in Wsus, but not in eminentware. the information in eminentware is not consistent with AD. only the machines that were on the AD at the time of the installation. all the clients and server that have been added after that aren't been seen in eminentware.

What version are you running? -Sean

Thanks that was exactly what i was looking for.

Sorry for the late reply to this thread. I think that I understand the way the roles work now. To be simple and if I understand this each Management group can only have 1 server with the management role assigned to it. does that sound about right? thanks.

Hi Tonya, Thank you for your response. These are the Adobe Packages, in particular the Adobe Flash Player 10.1.53.64 for IE (Upgrade) . The target machines have the Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin installed, both version 10.0.32.18. Should I be publishing the Adobe Flash Player 10.1.53.64 for…

This sounds like a good plan. I'm looking for both approval date and installation date. I'll follow the path you suggest and check my results. Thanks!

Ok, well let us know here how that works. I am also looking at an Office 2007 workstation installation via Eminentware.

DavidG: Hi kl0957, this is an issue with .NET framework and the System.Management namespace. The bug causes an initial authentication handshake to occur as the service account (and it shouldnt). We are actively working with Microsoft to finish testing a hotfix that will address this issue. Any solutions to this issue. We…

It was the only update I picked to install, but it did not install. I did not choose to ignore exclusive. Here is the task: Description: Purpose: Configuration Management State: N/A Submitted By: DOMAIN\Administrator Created: 5/18/2010 3:42:46 PM Started: N/A Completed: N/A ID: 0c03d6bd-6ed5-4daa-a8d6-13e1c2d3a762 Task ID:…

I have tried the solution linked in the OP and I have verified that I re-registered MSI. When I try to distribute the WSUS certificate via the Server Publishing Wizard the Eminentware server fails with the same as mentioned above: The results of the distribution of the signing certificate: SERVER NAME Status: Failure…

Tested using UMW with these options in the vm environment and it worked perfectly. Also, I while not moving computers around in groups, I can still somewhat “keep up” with who is getting patched by using the task history (even exporting this list as a spreadsheet). Should things go awry, I’ll at least have a list of what…

So just to confirm once I enter my product license key, its becomes a fully functional(including 3rd party updates) product?

That works out rather well, for me. The dude abides!

Hi Sim, we tryed it... the verification wizard give us a missing Certificate in both server in Trusted Root Certification Authorities & Trusted Publishers but using mmc console and checking certificate on both server we can find them regularly installed. The only way is to regenerate a new certificate and use it, but this…

We dont directly support MSUs in the package editor, however it can be done. In the package editor, you have to create a custom package (exe type). The program that you want to run is pkgmgr.exe You will need to take the extraction from the MSU (see MS link below for how to do this) and add them as additional files in the…

Thanks for the quick reply. Hmm, I dont think our security officier would allow service accounts to have that much access. Is it possible to configure EminentWare to prompt for credentials before executing an update management task. At the moment my domain admin account is being used to execute the tasks. I want to move…

Hi, Does it give you that error and somewhere it says that there is to much certificates install and that you should try and delete some? Regards PIMP

Greetings Dan. In this instance, some of the prerequisites are expressly described in the package description, and I would imagine are almost certainly the primary contributing factor: This package requires Apple Application Support 1.5.2 or greater and QuickTime 7.6.8 or greater already be installed. What this means is…

Ah that could be the reason. How do I check if the upstream server is running EW-CDS-004. I'm assuming that all servers have to run the same version and patch level?

Hi Kelly, excellent tip ! do You mind explaining different options for values 'level' & 'options' ? thanks in advance, Lukasz

bwilson_conticorp: I am working on deploying Office 2010 through the EminentWare system. My question is, what is the best way to go about this. I've tried to setup a package where the main file is the setup.exe from the install folder, then added all the other files as additional files. I then put a command line argument…

I had seen this article before, however are servers do not have office loaded, and this issue is refering to the office 2003 On one server, in the event viewer: EventID:16 Unable to Connect: Windows is unable to connect to the automatic updates service and therefore cannot download and install updates according to the set…

To clarify: crossing datasources is not allowed in the WSUS Analytics category. In other categories it can be done in some cases. Are you running version 1.7 SP1 (1.71.201)? If not, and your reports are not from WSUS Analytics, I'd recommend upgrading to that version and retry your reports. If they still return errors, can…
