Hope this is the answer you needed. (Not necessarily wanted)

Orion polls its data for the hosts from Vsphere API which apparently isnt the same place Vsphere gets its data. To solve this i verified that the data in the MOB was reporting the same as Orion. Then I reset the sensors. Here is the code to run if you have the VSphere powercli installed. Show any hardware not green…

The default up/down alert is to sensitive. You should adjust it to at least wait 2 polling intervals. this thread, adatole does a nice job explaining how to get the alerts to calm down.
-
1. Check your polling interval 2. Check your alert trigger condition We have ours set to poll every 120 seconds and not to alert unless it is down for 2 minutes. So if I understand this correctly it wont alert us unless it is down for 2 polling cycles. (max of 4 minutes) I stand corrected.

I opened a feature request regarding this yesterday.

I just upgraded mine and it went fine.Just click next.

We own VNQM, after moving to my new server I haven't even bothered redeploying it. Maybe it would be useful if i didn't already own SAM,NTA,NPM

Its hard to use templates for backgrounds as every place has different requirements for their maps. Keep in mind that if you do find a image you like, you can simply copy and paste it into network atlas. I create them in Visio then copy paste into network atlas. example: SharePoint Farm another example I use for our main…

The golden rule: More pollers = higher job security

Sorry, just read the once a day part. It sounds like a scheduled task. Check those.

What other monitoring tools are you using? Did someone else use the service acocunt.... Or its being used as the SQL service account. I would shut down the Orion server. Verify the account lockouts stop Account lockouts are the most difficult things to troubleshoot. There are tools from Microsoft to assist a

I see this with my account as well, although its a domain admin ( I know shame on me) it still doesn't have access to some servers, so it will cause account lockout

That auto config never worked for me so I created certs manually and for some reason I did it for only a few months. The auto config option failed again so I did just go through and redo all the certs manually. this time I set it for 3650 days
-
You want to remove the users signature and whatever else they have down there? I know alert central can do this but I have yet found a way in web helpdesk. Maybe the whd guys can talk to the alert central guys and ask how they did that. I Agree this would be a great feature but unfortunately the only way I know is to have…

how many devices\ interfaces are you monitoring? Your devices may be set to update their stats every 5 minutes. Have you tried to repair the database by running orion configuration? From your NPM server run

Solarwinds is great about beta testing so by the time it goes to RC its usually fairly stable. Plus RCs are supported by tech support, as long as you have active maintenance. If the RC has a feature I am excited to use I will install in production, if not I will wait for Stable.

thanks for this. One less reason now to access sccm console.

The way I was able to do it is edit the host name of the IP address of the endpoint So to do this you would need all the IP address for facebook.

Just leaving DC after attending Splunk .Conf and I will admit I wore my Solarwinds shirts while attending. A few Splunk people asked if I use the app and what we are doing with it and I told them my hopes of maybe using it for performance data but now that Splunk v7 has the ability to collect and display performance data I…

Thanks for the report. At least I know now what components I should adjust the baseline

juliebailey I would be interested as well.

I had similar issue. There was a gap in disk monitoring

I just did this in my lab, used servername\administrator as username. Worked fine. I do not have a firewall on the server I used for testing.

Going to have to agree with everything you have said above. Our old helpdesk software (helpdesk authority) stored the attachments on the server in a folder. This was about the only thing about that software that was really smooth.

Don't forget to hit up your sales guy for SW swag as well. They have some excellent polos

We did this using a Apache web front-end with an ajp conenctor to the back-end web helpdesk server.

Would seting the Location attribute mapping per sccm discovery to a static entry help?
