I think I'll just bow out of this month's mission and cross my fingers that next month's will be better. This all seems to cumbersome and confusion and the store seems to have vanished.

DOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I hate these sneaky questions. I literally read each answer on the hint link before selecting.

Thanks.....mmmm bacon.

Done. Thanks!

This write up spoke to me. I've been with my current employer for nearly 12 years now and I can't help but feel like I've gotten stuck in the "legacy" box quite a bit...although not to the same extent as some other folks. Some of the things mentioned in the comments, in terms of having a dedicated monitoring team seemed…

What keeps SolarWinds as our main monitoring tool is the versatility. The "one stop shop" mentality is where it's at.

Thanks for the articles! What a nice back yard. Is that a stage for karaoke?
-
Considering I'm on the Network side of things, I'm very interested in this one.
-
Thank you for sharing!

Great articles on this actuator! Thanks!

Thanks adatole! Another "leonism".........this one needs it's own Thwack T shirt! "Because working in IT means figuring it out."

As far as automation and optimizing time goes, we do use scripts when we are able, and on my side of the fence (Network), I try to use NCM to manage configurations as much as possible. Compliance reports and jobs can help you stay on top of things for sure.

Today's question was the first time in a long while where I saw something I didn't know and it made me to looking around. We are on 2019.4 and I can't seem to find this subview on any 2960 devices. Anybody have this subview setup on their Orion?

I agree with rshroeder. I think a long, deeper approach is best in this instance. Nevertheless, good article.

Thanks for the article.

Uhhhhh...............I took the time to actually type them all out. I didn't end on any of the specific answers we have to choose from, but I was very close to one. Which was deemed an incorrect answer. I don't see how though because I literally listed them all out and counted them one by one.......How very…

I'm right there with you acmtix. It's been extremely useful both inhouse and on our customer networks. We've also used other vendors than Cisco to gather flow data using NTA.

Thanks for the article. I know I've been guilty of not acting as if security is everyone's problem in the past. Good point.

Oh man....I remember back when I first entered the game. It was tape drives and CRT monitors everywhere! I remember when I started writing training documentation on "newer" tech like bulky PDA's with tiny screens. It's amazing to see how things have progressed, and I have only been in the game half as long as some folks.…

"Training is everyone's responsibility" Oh boy that's a can of worms....
-
No points for today's question but it says it recorded my vote.

Thanks for this series. I am sure that we will be revisiting it in the future.

Nice articles on this actuator! I really liked the email phrases article. Funny stuff!

Thanks for the article. I often listen to string quartets while I work. I find that it helps me stay focused on tasks, but only as far as my own task management allows. It's important to stay organized, and something I've been guilty of is simply allowing myself to get too overloaded. To the point where I have some tasks…

Ugh........red x this morning. I could've sworn I had it correct.

Done! And much like others, I only included my user name!!!

This is awesome stuff adatole. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the article. I agree that the legacy folks can tend to dig their heels in....I choose to look at it as an opportunity for growth. The real question is whether people will put the work into adapting or get left behind.
-
Thanks for the article! The "relying on alerts" bit is a toughy....I don't think we'll ever get there.

I would have to say my favorite game used to be The Witcher III, but now is Cyperbunk 2077.
