Thanks, Hanif. It was great talking to you!

I HEAR YOU! The whole customize page experience isn't too popular. Attached a design that we are looking at - still in very early form. Group by product would definitely be an option in this design. I hear what you are saying about reorganizing while on the page, but I would like to have another mechanism to reorg the…

You can find the styles used in \Orion\styles\NetObjectsTips.css The .clue classes build the background and the .InlineBar classes set the color of the bar on top.
-
No, if you are making changes to the style sheets that Orion uses, the changes should immediately appear (make sure to clear your cache!) Please backup this file, as each time you run the config wizard your changes (hacks) will likely be overwritten.
-
If you installed Orion in its default location, the MainLayout.css file that Orion uses is in \Inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\styles. See if you find the file there. It looks like you are trying to modify a file that is in a zip. Files in a zip cannot be modified unless unzipped.

Well, glad to hear it worked. Sad to hear it was such a pain. Thanks for your feedback, though. It's always helpful.

You should be able to open any .css file with a text editor. Notepad is installed on most Windows PCs by default.

We hear you! We're currently working with some folks in our legal department to try to get the stencils in Network Atlas. Keep your fingers crossed...

I'm just trying to understand your issue so we can look into fixing. Is multi-edit not working? Not that single edit pages should take a long time to load, but multi-edit could be a workaround for now. The NPM screen that doesn't refresh - are you talking about node details screen? Would the 'poll now' button in the 'node…

Theming these bars is a good idea, but we don't support that right now. If you want to hack a change to these bars you can: 1. Change the background color of the top bar by changing the #moduleList background color value in the /Orion/styles/MainLayout.css file. 2. Change the background color of the bottom bar by changing…

Well, we only support replacing the large logo on the top left. If you want to change this small logo (unsupported), swap out this file with your own: /Orion/images/NavBar.Logo.gif The config wizard will overwrite this change every time you run it, so make back ups!
-
That would be cool. I know this is not what you are requesting, but some customers use a switch as a background object and then overlay icons on the ports.

Here's one I found today. In Node Management, I'd like to be able to select all the interfaces assigned to a node. The "Select All" checkbox seems to only work for nodes, not the expanded interface list. Just trying to understand - Are you trying to select only the interfaces or the node AND all of its interfaces?

Hi drhodes, I just wanted to follow up. Development is working on your 'green too dark issue'. I think this will be fixed in the next release, although I'm not sure when that is. Thank you for your feedback and helping us make Network Atlas better!

Thanks for the pointer to that post, bleearg13. I had missed it. Great ideas. Improving page customization is on our radar, we'll see how much we can get done. Thanks again for the feedback! Having the ability to drag-n-drop boxes within the NPM webpage would be awesome! AGREED!!

I love a hijacked thread! Right now, we are redo-ing the tab UI (to use dynamic text, not images). So this feature is possible in the future, it's not on the roadmap just yet. I'll give this feature a bump.

Hi valdemirs, The change you are trying to make is not supported at this time. You may change the header image and add text on the login page through 'Web Console Settings' in Admin. You can make the changes you described (which are not supported and will break on upgrade and every time you run the config wizard) by doing…

Thanks And go Jimmie Johnson!

Hi DirtySouth, Oh, the tree reset! How we hate thee! Coming soon - a tree that remembers its last state on page refresh, even when you navigate away and come back. I think you'll love it. I think you'll see it in 9.5. NCM - I hear your frustrations. We've been working on rolling all of NCM into the Orion web site. I think…

I'll enter the slider idea for compression as a feature request. Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with Chris, I like the gradient looks better. Is there a selectable option for this like there is for the color? I'm sorry you guys don't like the new NCM-like look! The NCM look was very popular, so we thought we'd apply it to Orion NPM as well. We had the best intentions. I have to admit, I do like vanilla Maybe…

I will enter the dark green as a bug in our system.

Thanks for sharing screenshots of your Orion install! It's always helpful.

Great idea. I think you can add your own icons by adding them to one of the folders found in here: \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Network Atlas\Maps\NetObjects. I think gif, jpg, and bmp formats will work. We should make this easy to do in the UI.

Thanks SamuelB, I see your wishlist in our bug tracking system. We did a lot of usability when we put the UnDP together, but it was a difficult project. Thanks for the good feedback.

Ichance, Overview is underutilized. How much do you use this view? I've been playing with some ideas, if any of them get off the ground, I'd love to get your feedback. Good point about the legend. Tooltips - I think you are going to love the Orion 9.5 update when it comes out. There should be some very cool mouseover stuff…

I'll be working a whole bunch on a future version of VoIP very shortly, so I'll see what we can do there. I'll also look into the 'pause refresh' functionality. We'll need to weigh that new functionality against other requests, but you're not the first to have mentioned it. I know this isn't what you're asking for, but you…

It was! Thank you so much for chatting with me. I learned a lot about the tools missing in your IT toolbelt. I have a lot of great info to report back to the team. Thanks again!
