  • Sorry, Internal Audit started their network audit on Monday, been scrambling. At the moment, down nodes and your module are in sync. I'll wait until out of sync to run your queries.
  • Chris, Everything discussed is exactly what I want as well. You have an executable to toggle an interface status from an trap alert. I'd like an executable that would create an NPM alert/event. It doesn't seem that difficult.
  • I've asked repeatedly for a feature list / voting feature. There appears to be no interest in this. I can't tell you how disappointed I am over features and functions that aren't needed by pre-sales and don't get worked on.
  • I have FTP running on my Cirrus box. I have Archiving setup on my SA boxes to save BOTH system configuration and user accounts. User accounts saves alot more than just users and is required to do a system restore. I've had good success with FileZilla Server. Archive uses FTP to do a backup.
  • I've look at other IPAM products... Your unlimited license, which is what we would need due to use of /24 and /16 subnets, gets us in the ballpark of products which manage DNS and DHCP. What I want in an IPAM is something that can model our current supernets, location subnets, and VLAN CIDRs. Also reserve DHCP scope areas.…
  • On a side note: NTA needs to work like the new NCM. You should be able to buy just the number of interfaces you need to monitor netflow on. Its so resource intensive (and costly), we just have a 100 interface license and add devices we need to monitor. In its current configuration, we have a 100 interface NPM license to…
  • Gob, Tested the "I" version of your module. The new option to put "Still Down" on top works great. Unfortuantely, the problem with missing down devices persists. Its kind of random, but missing devices are down for hours and within the sensitivity of the module. I'm going to look at the code to see what could be the…
  • Gob, Thanks for a fix. Don't want to be a pest, but your Module is currently displayed on the 52 inch HelpDesk LCD panel. They told me a site was down, but not listed. HelpDesk LOVES your module. Will download an test. Thanks Again
  • An additional comment... I'd like the ability to share with Solarwinds my inventory summary. I'd like you to know the numbers of devices I manage THAT ARE NOT CISCO devices.
  • As I've stated elsewhere, you guys need a way for customers to vote on the wish list. I suggest the facility that Yammer uses... This is hosted by http://uservoice.com/ . They allow you to add suggestions, vote on them, and track them. Awesome. -=Dan=-
  • Let me take a shot at this. We do NOT want auto discovery to detect interface changes. We want an option to DISABLE THIS. We also want the default for discovery to show FOUND ITEMS. We do NOT want to see changed items by default. This is a design problem, not a bug. We also need device filters, but I'll drop that on the…
  • We use SRX 210 with Cellular modem. This chart required a custom SNMP stat for RSSI signal level. I'll try to post the JUNOS script needed to populate this counter.
  • I doubt it too. Again, filters reduces the number of polled nodes and interfaces. It doesn't increase the number, so thus is a low priority to Solarwinds. Same deal with the mulitple IP addresses.
  • They are my personal resources. I'll export them and post them for you.
  • SW just chooses to implement Cisco's Enterprise MIBs natively. Calls Juniper "not following standards" to use their own Enterprise MIBs. Granted, they could and should use the v2 MIBs instead of enterprise mibs, but everyone does this. Choosing to ignore Juniper, just like ignoring Trapeze Wireless (now Juniper) is a…
  • Gob, Sometimes the resource will miss one of my down nodes. I added the "Down Node" resource so that nodes that your resource misses will be listed. Haven't figured out why its missed. Suggestions on where to look. Also, how hard would it be to put the still down items at the top of the listing?
  • For what its worth, my two data centers are 99% Juniper, as are all division offices. Several EX8200s, hundreds of EX4200/3200s, many SRX's (typically 240s), hundreds of netscreen firewalls, and SA boxes of various sizes. We use Cisco routers on the wan only because our managed service provider required them (VzB). We also…
  • Session tracing allowed me to debug this. Turns out that all but the few failing routers allow the command 'show startup'. Only these few didn't have this command allowed. Thanks for your help. Will complain about consistency with our carrier. (That's why I'm collecting their configs).
  • I'm running 9.2 and applied the latest mib.cfg. The mapper works with an EX4200, but I don't get any MAC addresses or IP addresses. Does this work on any release? -=Dan=-
  • I believe this is core functionality for a Network Performance Manager tool.
  • I use SNMP traps to handle these conditions.
  • I use those extensively. Thanks.
  • On IPAM as a separate product. I agree this would be a standaone product IF it did the DNS/DHCP control that "real" IPAM does. In its present form, it should be fully integrated into NPM, and manage the IP addresses associated with nodes. Layer 3 switches may have a dozen or more IP addresses associated with them. I'd like…
  • Here too. We have 116 Juniper EX switches, and 56 Netscreen firewalls. Would like LLDP as well, and have asked on the NPM forum for LLDP discovery. Would like it for LLDP inventory in NCM just like the CDP inventory and expose these values to the Config Change Template system.
  • Thanks for the reply Brandon. I've bumped into the issue that a switch (nortel) was changed with a Juniper switch. Now I have disappeared interfaces, which is what i guess the rediscovery does when interfaces go missing. It doesn't actually discover the new switch however. If I press list resources, It sees the correct…
  • This is great Gob, How did you get started developing a custom resource? What did you use as an example? I'm assuming you need a copy of Visual Studio to get going. I'd like to change the order of the Node Down Summary, so that still down is on top. I'm assuming the code for this is in the .aspx.cs file. Suggestions on how…
  • Right, If I had nothing more than the ability to both ingress and egress addresses in a single rule would be helpful. If people aren’t defining their internal applications in Netflow, are they just using the default protocols? Upon showing anyone NTA, the first question asked is “Can you show how much ERP traffic there…
  • Not to dismiss your Interface IP details resource. Looks awesome. Would love to see the code for it. -=Dan=-
  • I was looking for something at the Node Details level. What I have now looks like:
  • If you did nothing but add all the scripting functions available in the open source Simple Event Correlator, that would be very helpful. A Library of syslog events or traps are critical and need to be tracked would be helpful. -=Dan=-
