  • Same here. We have multiple people creating maps and a security policy that prohibits us using shared accounts on any systems (compliance reasons).
  • NetPath Linux support would be a game-changer for the company I'm currently consulting for. They are considering other alternatives that allow some distributed testing from small-footprint Linux agents, but being able to deploy NetPath cheaply across many sites on small linux boxes would immediately kill that idea.
  • Is there any news about this? This is just a showstopper to making any decent use of Orion maps, and Network Atlas is slow and clunky.
  • No replies, but have you figured anything out on this? I've hit exactly the same quesiton myself. I'm about to embark on a project to help audit and automate QoS configuration to a set of standards. The documentation seems to point me to baseline management, but it seems that compliance reports are more powerful.
  • Did you find a way forward on this? I have the same challenge.
  • I've just found this post. It seems that I can link a node to an image like this, but if I try to link a node to a shape (circle or rectangle) then the connector tool is greyed out and I can't create a link. Is that correct? We can link to images but not shapes?
  • Does anyone have any views on this? The only variable I can get to work on an IPSLA operation details page is ${NodeID}, but that's useless to me. I need to access variables about the operation.
  • Did you every find any further info on this? I'm facing the same challenge; wanting to use the perfstack charts but not wanting to manually set them all up.
  • @"tdanner" - many thanks for the response. Do you know if there are any plans to make it configurable in the future? Can't get SwisPowershell working through firewalls and load balancers (something to do with it needing both 17777 and 17778 through a load balancer that's doing SSL re-encryption, by the look of it). So the…
  • Hi, this should do the job. Replace the IP address of the server, the path to the CSV files and the Custom Property details as required. #******* SET IP ADDRESS TO NPM SERVER YOU WANT TO CREATE NODES ON****** $OrionServer="X.X.X.X" #******* Set path to CSV file containin node names ***** # The CSV file should have TWO…
  • Thanks for the reply. I understand how to tell NPM to only alert on some interfaces. The problem I have is the first step... "When you have identified the unimportant interfaces....." Solarwinds effectively already has this information through topology mapper, i.e. any interface that connects to another node in NPM needs…
  • I've tried almost exactly that. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Some further investigation leads me to believe that SWQL doesn't support subqueries in the WHERE clause (only in SELECT and JOIN clauses)
  • Hi, yes, that was my first approach. From what I can see, it's only recorded in the event history if there is an Alert configured. Therefore my first approach was to configure alerts and track the trigger and reset times. This works, but creates a whole bunch of unwanted alerts. I was looking for an approach that didnt…
  • Standard uses for External Nodes. Placeholders for: * Nodes we do not want status, but want to monitor a Server & Application Monitor Template * Nodes when we hit a Node License Max (External Nodes do not count against licensing) * A device to save Network Configuration Manager Files. (save a config file and use/modify to…
  • This might be too late for you, but I have a Powershell script that can add external nodes with custom properties via the API from a CSV file. In its current state it's specific to my requirements, but if you're still interested I can make it a little more generic and post here.
  • Bump.... Any ideas, anyone?
  • Looks like this is still an issue, or am I missing something? I'm working on 2019.2 and I can't see custom properties for external nodes without having to edit the node. Seems a little crazy...
