  • Is this something that is going to be addressed in release 10? This is ridiculous. I have been a Solarwinds user for 8 years and am SERIOUSLY considering (with management backup) finding a different tool that can provide better reporting.
  • They sent me this new Cisco OSS device config file. I can't upload it to the post as it doesn't accept that type of file extension. Give me your e-mail address and I can e-mail it to you.
  • Ticket opened and was passed on to the development team. Thank you!
  • That is correct...without having to add nodes from the blue sites to the red polling engine.
  • So it is on the roadmap, which is great. How long does it normally take to make it to the product?
  • Here is the other file...
  • Here is the trace file. I will add the SWTelnetDebug.txt file on a separate post.
  • Chris, Yes it is. I have not had a chance to play with this much since the upgrade. Thank you!
  • Craig, Below is the map of how we will have our polling engines setup at this point. We are currently in the process of this transition. Everything blue will be monitored out of our midwestern polling engnines while everything red will be monitored from our eastern polling engines. Obviously EOC has both sites configured.…
  • Yes, I could get it this way. However, we have over 500 sites and would prefer to not have to do this 500 times. I was hoping for something dynamic.
  • Ok...I backed up the configuration on our main server and moved that file to our new server. However, you do not have an option to select a file to restore. Does that file need to go to specific location to restore it?
  • We have SLX and a secondary polling engine. We are running version 9.5 SP4 with hotfix 2, which I just installed today after having the SOAP exception numerous times (thanks for the hotfix btw). NCM is integrated with NPM and we have SLA manager although it is bare-bones right now with only ~12 call paths active. We are…
  • It says "login failed at banner" but it shows that it has successfully logged in. It keeps returning all the way down and finally says it failed: Cisco Systems ConsoleThis device is private property intended for the exclusive use of authorized personnel for business purposes. Anyone using this system consents to…
  • Thank you for the feedback. I figured it was some sort of bug. The weird thing is that I have a SW deployment that has been upgraded throughout time since the early 8.x releases and it doesn't have the problems. We recently installed a fresh 9.5 for balancing our polls between data centers. The fresh install is the only…
  • It is helpful, but why would this fall back on the IOS configuration? To me this is a Solarwinds polling issue that needs to be resolved. We have 1000+ devices and shouldn't have to make this change to get accurate CPU polling. Not trying to jump on you :) Just a little bit frustrated. We have alerts setup to trigger when…
  • Yeah...I have done something similar in the past. However, we prefer a dynamic solution instead of something static. We know device names are deployed correctly with site codes and it would be nice to automatically sort them as we add new devices. Maybe if Solarwinds developed a default group option where if the group…
  • Michal, My personal preference is that this would take priority. As someone stated earlier, F5 is a market leader in the load balancing arena and I am sure this would benefit a large base of users. We currently use Enterprise Manager for collecting statistics but it is very clunky. Derrick
  • I had already tried that and it didn't work. I just verified this and cleared out other criteria and had only this criteria and it did not work. My temporary work around was to add a Do not collect config custom property and added that into the criteria.
  • This is a different template than what I had, but the same result. Double username...
  • How about the ability to select what source interface the SLA traffic is sent from?
  • Something that I would like to add to this for the unpluggable interface option (which is a MUCH appreciated feature) is the ability to select this when you add a device. If I add a 6509 with 336 interfaces and want to make most of them all unpluggable, I have to add the node with all interfaces and then select the…
  • Andy, We are using S8710's, 8730's and a couple of 8400's. We also have a mixture of NEC VoIP equipment as well. I can get the details of the NEC equipment if you need. We are heavily pursuing a VoIP monitoring tool that will give us what we need with our Avaya equipment. When do you think this will be available?
  • BigIP LTM devices show up, but the CPU/Memory and interface statistics are not accurate.
  • Christine, One of our frustrations with EOC is the lack of ability to pull global reports. We currently have two separate NPM deployments and will be adding two more in Q4 2010 and Q1 2011. Is this something that will be addressed in the new release? Derrick
  • Here is another example as of late after the "fix" in 10.1. One of our OC3's were running at 100%...maximum available bandwidth of 155Mbps yet the graph shows over 200Mbps. How is this possible??? Our netflow utility shows it completely normal. Even the SW 95th percentile is out of whack!! We have a second polling…
  • I work with tflake and we also tried polling from different polling engines and from the Engineers Toolset and had the same issues. Hoping someone else has come across these issues and resolved them.
  • Thank you for the suggestion. However, I already have it setup to use "no enable login". Looks like it is time to open a ticket on this.
