I have this as one of my main "wants".

Superfly99, thanks for the comments. I agree that you can add the extension as you exampled but when I do that & open the file with excel 2010 it complains that the file isnt really an excel file. Not to mention you have to manually add the extension to the end of the report url. It should be just as simple as choosing…

Can we watch recordings of the webinars if we have missed the live event?

+1 from me

I logged in; answered some basic catagorizing questions then it said they had all the answers they needed from folks with the same criteria. I took the time to come over & take the survey only to be told no thank you. It should say something like "the first 100 users". That is lame.

Hello, I have a question about an existing report I have. Currently the report runs based upon the current date & subtracts 1 to get the last months date range. It turns out my boss is NOT running the report on the 1st of each month as I told him he needed to for the results to be the previous months values. As a result I…

contracer, good morning. I have one more request regarding this report if you dont mind. The report ran as expected & I have the report writer automatically generate & email it to me. The next situation is the boss, while impressed with the pdf would prefer a csv formated version of the report so he can manipulate the data…

contracer, Thank you VERY much. This works perfectly for every variable! I really appreciate your time & expertise. I will use this template for several reports. Have a great week! Mike

contracer, good morning and thank you for the code! It looks real good & works. I have a couple of questions if you are willing to indulge me. 1) It is reporting on events this month as well as last month. Does this make it a "30 day" report or is there a way to tweak the code to do a "Last Month" report? 2) Is there a way…

Thanks again Richard! If there was a "correct answer" button for your help I would hit it. You were spot on. SolarWinds is very useful but the real power lay in the customization. I am new to it so will be plowing through the forums for all the useful information.

Contracer, Thank you for your help. I look forward to seeing your script! Cheers Mike

Rich, thank you for the info. That is exactly the kind of tweak I was looking for. Let me pick your brain on this topic a bit more. This is about OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.7 ospfNbrEvents How would you modify this so that the "6" changes to something enumerated? Here is how I have the setting right now if you dont mind…

contracer, thank you that looks really nice. Two things though if you have the time. #1 This precanned sql report is showing last 30 days (not a big deal but would prefer a monthly I can run at the beginning of each new month). #2 Would you be kind enough to show me an example of how I would tweak it to only show my…

Guys, I have been working with tech support for quite a while on this now (case 448539)& so far we have come up with a couple of things. #1 I had mistakenly been using my inpath0_0 for my "pre" interface. A call to Riverbed cleared that up, it was lan0_0. #2 SolarWinds asked me to change the Pre & Post interfaces. Now the…

Same here. My devices are reporting fine but in SW they are showing a temp issue. Just upgraded from NPM 11 to NPM 11.5 and the issue still persists.
-
njoy, glad you figured it out. Do you mind explaining what scenario this alert would be useful in?
-
The real world addresses are Verizons, not ours BUT we don't actually use every real world address & that's why I need some way to create a list of whats originating on the outside & where is it going on my premise.
-
Hi, Yes we have NPM & NTA. We have several addresses that point to devices in the DMZ & others servers. The problem is, there appears not to be a clear & conclusive list of what external ip addresses are active & what they point to inside here. That's why my boss asked me to figure out a way to use whatever resource within…

Zac, can you be more specific about setting up the new alert under advanced alert manager? I am trying to configure an alert in there for certain devices to email me when the device (switches in 1 location in this case) reach a certain temperature or higher. I am not sure how exactly to configure the various aspects of the…

I have an open case with SolarWinds about this issue. 448539 Adrian has pointed me towards this other thread on the same topic. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/25568 In this other thread someone points out that the "pre" interface needs to be the WAN interface of the Rvb & the "Post" interface needs to be the LAN…

You are spot on njoylif, That's exactly what I did. Created the report; had it run & email automatically to the boss on the 1st of each month. The issue we ran into was the boss did NOT collect the data each month & was storing the links thinking he could go back later (in this case 2 months) and choose the hyperlink to…

Thanks zzz, Its nice to look at other reports & see how they are doing what they do. I may look into creating one based upon this query.

Hello, I am struggling with a similar situation. I have several remote routers in Multilink bundles or with controller T1's or T1's with sub-interfaces. When site A which has a Multilink bundle of 6 T1's hitting the threshold I see not only the Multilink bundle but each T1 in the bundle. I would like to only see the…

Michael, thank you for the OID values. 2 things. #1 The OID you stated 1.3.6.1.2.15.3.1.2 is missing a .1 value just after the .2 so it should be 1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1.2 no biggy. #2 This the one I am stumped on. When I use the BGP state OID it returns a "6" value. Is there a tweak or what do I need to adjust so it shows a…

I see how you did this in an advanced sql search but how can I do this slightly modified? What I need to do is a monthly report of network "outages" for a certain group we will refer to as Vincent. It would be helpful to create a report (monthly) that will show me which "Vincent" cisco router went offline & for how long…

If you dont mind me asking; where did you get this graph? I am not able to find one like that in my VNQM. We have also switched from MGCP to SIP & I am finding it challenging to get quality information. Thank you

CaHunt, thank you. I did not realize the body of the html was actually where I needed to remove the space. Taking your suggestion it appears to work now & looks like it should on the small screen of an iphone. Thank you again!
-
Thanks CA but as far as I can tell there is no extra line breaks. Here is the alert code & the alert email. As I indicated the couple of lines in the pc view of the message isnt an issue but on the smaller iphone screen its like a full page down of white before i see the actual alert. If you look at the screen cap you can…
-
Jeremy these are very cool. Thank you for sharing. Does anyone have a suggestion how to remove the blank portion before the alert? What I am getting in email is a small (a couple of lines) worth of just background white before i see the nice colored alert outline & then all its fields. It is even worse on my iphone. I have…
-
njoy, thank you again for all your time & expertise. I see what you meant by removing those 2 sections. It becomes less valuable unfortunately with the change. It would have been sweet to have it put a date/time tag on each of the resulting lines (went from a 1 pg. to a 15 pg. report). That's something I could have used…
