Another vote. This is what is preventing our support team from working solely out of Orion.
-
Ah yes, but that's why we have AD authentication on our central server. Plus, I'm sure it would be trivial to encrypt the host information within the database to prevent access outside of the product. The way we launch into hosts now is via a command line call. Our credentialing system (Thycotic Secret Server) generates…

Will the other connection information other than just the ip address propagate to other users for hosts listed in the Remote Hosts List? Something that we saw in earlier releases is that while there was a remote host list that was shared, no other connection info was attached with it. So things like non-standard ports,…
-
It doesn't. We have hundreds of hosts that our support team all need access to. Without the ability to save host-specific information, such as non-standard port and credentials, then the centralized host list is worthless. What good is having it when we would still have to lookup port and credentials from another resource?

Well here's my dilemma. I'll lay out our current solution, what I like, what I don't like, and the same for my Solarwinds solution. We currently use Dell Openmanage IT Assistant for monitoring. We're a consulting firm, so 99% of our server base is remote. We use SNMP traps to alert us of failures or events. All of those…

Nevermind. I'm dumb. My first go around with Custom SQL Alerts. I didn't notice the select statement at the top was already there. Working correctly now!

Still can't figure this out. It's driving me crazy. I plug this into SQL: Select nodes.Caption From Nodes where not nodes.IP_Address in (Select distinct syslog.IP from syslog where syslog.DateTime > DATEADD(HOUR,-48,GETDATE())) and (nodes.Hardware_Type not in ('CUSTOMER_FIREWALL','VMWARE_HOST', 'CLUSTER', 'SAN') or…

Will/Can it be used for alerting for hardware problems, or will it just be performance data?
-
Okay, that works in SQL, but not in Orion. WTF? In SQL I get the correct results. When I setup the alert in Orion it triggers on all the hosts. WTF?
-
I do. Have a link to more info?
-
Is that just for 1 specific node? I want to be alerted if any node hasn't sent any syslog messages in 48 hours. Not sure what the variables are in your SQL statement. Thanks for the reply.

* Dell and HP Server support - integrating with Dell OpenManage and HP Insight ManagerCan you expand on this a bit. And if possible, release date and % likelihood it will make it to the release? I'm just starting to deploy Orion APM and NPM in my environment of 150 Dell servers. Unfortunately, Orion doesn't have a good…

Anything?

Well, that works, let me throw another wrinkle in here for you. Sorry about adding additional criteria, I guess I originally didn't have a good focus on exactly what I wanted, and as things came into focus and I started seeing results, then there were some things I needed to refine. The SQL script works. Here's what I…

Anyone?
