I'm also having weird issues with RTN. As I see it, I have: 1) Had a device that just flat didn't download the config when it should have. I checked the IP in the Syslog database, and it did match up with what's in the Cirrus DB. I was able to manually download the configs just fine 2) I have sime devices we used a…

Bumping this as I'm also having almost the identical issue. My Syslog Alert criteria takes all messages matching "Fan" and forwarding to our Monitoring System so a ticket can be generated. (for the OP, our Remedy workflow actually suppresses multiple tickets, but I still don't want to have 60 tickets an hour created for…

Not a problem. Glad I could help out, even though I guess I was being dense. Now, it would be great if the reconcile of devices from Cirrus to Orion were improved. (I could get the import from Orion into Cirrus, but I can't seem to go the other way). Thanks again, Stephen

Dana, I tend to agree the integration is not there as I would have hoped. I ended up getting it to "work" by sending a SysLog event back to the SysLog service, and then having that send the trap over, and I was able to set up the traps as I needed to and they were interpreted well enough to create the rules in NetCool. I…

Thanks. The scenario described is a little different then what I'm thinking. I don't have a problem with selecting all Cisco Devices when I happen to think about going in there. However, as it stands, I have to remember to go in every time I add a device. I'm thinking if there could even be a scheduled job that runs…

Thank you for your response. I'm looking in the Admin guide, as well as the application. I'm not sure this entirely addresses what I am looking to do, unless I'm missing something. I want to do something like: 1) Node A Is connected to Node B by Interface A1 2) If Node B goes down, then so does Interface A1. 3) A Node Down…

You say NCM. Do you mean NCM or NPM? These are both products we offer. Whoops! Good catch. Guess I had Cirrus on the brain. I have corrected this. Thanks, Stephen

AHA! So it's much like the existing prcess, with the addition of being able to add a Syslog service on the server if one doesn't already exists! We actually installed Cirrus 4 on the same server as the second poller, which had the Orion Syslog service for that reason. We then put in the alert action to kick off the EXE…

I missed one more point on the "Recent Configurations". It's only the last 24 hours. Now, I have Last 5 Configs working fine. So far so good. Nice work, guys!

Well, I thought I had changed the password. I did change it this time, and it took. Now, I'm getting "No Configs" on a device I see the configs in the NCM Website.

I ran into a similar issue whereby I wanted to NOT alert on a subset of interfaces. What I finally did was create an "Exclude" Custom Property in the Nodes table, and then marked them with text and did a "Exclude not empty" condition for the ones I did want to alert on. I really think the Alert Supression is either 1) not…

I am actually trying to go through the same exercise right now. I am looking at raw traps that are going to Mercury/HP's Sitescope product and I'm not seeing where it's doing variable subsitution. I'm simply trying to debug the traps being sent over before trying to send them into NetCool. 17:02:32…

Thank you for your response. This actually did lead to my solution, but may or may not have been the same issue. I started off like you suggested, and removed the rows out of the table for my account that have a setting name of: CirrusIsFirstTime CirrusISPassword CirrusISUserName Then, I went in and was able to add the NCM…
