Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. The issue returned. But the good thing is that they are aware of the issue and they say it should be fixed in 2024.1 service release and 2024.2. support.solarwinds.com/.../Alert-Icons-are-broken-after-upgrading-to-2024-1

Well I'm not sure what changed, but I checked again today and the issue seems to have resolved itself. So it's all good now I suppose! Thanks for the reply.
