finally pulled off this one today, i added the code snippet and at the same time added the SolarWinds.Orion.Web.Limitation in the initialization/references. Studied the error I got previously and tried it out and eventually it worked like magic! Thanks wbrown for the code.

Hi Mav, #3 is going to solve what has been a pain in the butt for years, hope all of these comes into fruition! also feeling good about #1 and #9, keeping track of the downtime age will be quite helpful..and being outside the US, i hope something great is in store for us with #4. I have to agree with jawells as well,…

In lieu of NetFlow, maybe you can also try NPM's QoE feature? We use this to query application traffic. I know you're looking for percent utilization, but maybe you can just introduce a formula on the SQL query to get one.

So, is the IOS that I mentioned that we are using belongs to the IOS 12.2 SX flavors?Im sorry, im not so sure if its within the same family where the bug occurs..and I already looked into the IIS Manager settings, i can't seem to find the URL scan tool that you mentioned..can you please guide me on this one?maybe I'm a…

Hi ariabell, You may try uninstalling/installing the Information Service to fix the issue. Now works for me everytime :)
-
Already on SAM 6.2.1. Has this been explicitly mentioned in the release notes? I might have to involve support if needed. Thanks!

I'm actually looking for a temporary solution for this since we can't upgrade yet to 10.1 as we are planning to upgrade our servers first, so I'm making the most of what we have right now. By the way, i tried placing the code snippet and i encountered an error when I launched the Alerts view.
-
Hi Michal / Craig, I didn't try it yet, because the error didn't occur again..i guess when it does then that's the time i try it out, just to see how our servers are doing.. Thanks, Pau

I don't know if SolarWinds has any videos regarding groups as I haven't encountered one yet, but commonly SolarWinds' videos come from the SolarWinds Lab episodes where you get to learn a lot about the products. You can see the SolarWinds lab link on the thwack menu.

pacetti, I'm a little bit confused, because the NPM in the new servers is already upgraded to v10.1. You're saying that I should use the license Key in the new 10.1 servers to upgrade the 9.5 installation in the old NPM?sorry for the confusion..thanks so much in advance.. =) njoylif, Yup, this is what I'm attempting to do…

mesverrum is right, you can't simply customize the list resources page. Orion runs a lot of action in the backend to produce all the resources it can show to you as options. Also, to understand how asset inventories work, you can check this post: Re: asset inventory - what is it using? Some of your devices are probably…

You'll need to run the snmpset commands manually or automatically through a windows batch file, you'll just need to install net-snmp on a desktop or on your Orion server itself to test this. Snmpset will store the calculated values in the device's MIB. You can then use the Universal Device Poller, or the SAM SNMP Monitor,…

Hello! sorry for the late response, mondays and tuesdays are always a killer.. Hmmm, so it seems it's the only data entry that's missing, and you have tried other variables so I'm sure you have run some tests quite enough. I guess you have reached out to tech support already? This is the table I was referring to, I always…

Hi, there's this solution in the knowledgebase though, might be worth a try: Manual agent install fails with Time Out error - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

Hello, Were you able to work around this issue? Regards, Paulo

Hi, im currently testing the IP SLA manager demo..there are no graphs displayed as well..is this normal to the demo version?im getting no data for udp jitter operations, the icmp echo worked..we are using 12.2 (33) SRB2 IOS..cisco 7609..is this within the range of IOSs not protected from the bug?

Hi Booloo, Yup, i believe i do too it's a registry edit..launch regedit, then edit the ssh entry on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT ([HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ssh\shell\open\command]). You should put the directory path where putty is located. I attached a txt file for this, just save it as a reg file, then edit the path for putty and just run…

Hi, The reports are still taking so long..are there any remedies to this? Thanks! - Pau

Any idea from the SolarWinds development guys? Thanks.

Wow..never thought I could use a Custom HTML view on this one..this is great! Thanks a lot pyro :)

Thanks a lot for the tips. I think I'll try using the trap viewer alerts first.

Hi Kevin, so I wouldn't be able to load the module through a SAM powershell template at all?
-
Hi, I know that there are existing templates for MS SQL Server 2005/2008 in SAM, and there are counters there that can somehow show the databases on the server; like the Transactions per Sec counter, which will show you the transaction rate on the server's databases. I'm not sure however what counter can show you the…

Since you have been able to add all these custom pollers in UnDP, you should be able to create alerts for these. Knowing what kind of values you were able to poll, you should be able to play around with it in Alert Manager. Just go to Manage Alerts and choose any of the 3 that would apply as seen below. Set the trigger…

Hi, Just wanna update this thread, since I have encountered this specific error yesterday. I just did a reinstallation of the Solarwinds Information Service on the affected poller and then restarted IIS and everything was fixed right then :)
-
Hi Thomas, I see what you mean. Actually I have gone about this problem myself, but it involved simple batch files, simple perl scripts and a simple html work. An alert creates a batch file (alert action:log alert to a file), and logs the alert in html code on a text file as well. All files are saved on a client desktop…

Hi, I don't know if this already available in version 10, but it would really be great if we can have an option where we can total the interface traffic for certain number of specified interfaces and be shown on a chart. This would be a great help in easing the analysis of summing up overall traffic for a specific node…

I actually have it monitored in SAM already, but the Hardware Health does not include the array. I don't know if it's an HP issue. I just thought it can be done in VMan.
-
Hi again, I hope this process won't be overkill for you, but this is what I'm using and you can do so much with SQL Server. First you should use the Import and Export Wizard located in your SQL Server, launch it and follow the steps which are very much easy. In this step, you input the SQL server, from which you will copy…

Thanks a lot Andy, that clears things up. - Pau
