  • Sorry - to clarify, I just want to hide specific assets, not all of them; I would like for a tech to be able to look and see what might be attached to a user's computer, but still make it easy for the user to select their computer without digging through a bunch of things they probably wouldn't create tickets on. Thank you…
  • Awesome! I'll retry it on my end and see if works for me too. I'm noticing a lot of little 'oddities' with the DRS program the more I use it (not being able to pin it to the start menu has been the most mind boggling so far); I think they're still working out bugs between the Mini-remote control and the 'full' program.
  • Got it - thanks again!
  • Thanks! I did put in a ticket and got a reply back on this; it turns out it was something fairly obvious that I was missing. I had imported computers and such into Patch Manager, but for WOL to work I also had to go to Patch Manager System Configuration -> Management Groups, select the enterprise, and add the subnets for…
  • Thanks. I haven't found anything else helpful. The only other thing that looked promising was the service install through Remote Support itself (there's an option to do a batch push for Remote Support and Mini-Remote Control), but I wasn't able to get it do anything helpful towards this.
  • Mmmm that would be a little different... like Kellytice said, you would want to do a ticket search and save that as a query - I would guess you would want to use "Date" "Opened" "This Month" as the search criteria... that should show all the tickets that were opened this calendar month, and it would update automatically…
  • Ahh; thanks! It did discover the PIX/IOS connector all on its own a little bit later (which just made me even more confused, until I read your reply) so I guess it just needed a bit more logs before it could tell the difference. Can you tell me where I would go to clean up the 'bad' connectors? Or will it do that…
  • That worked! That change, plus an action rule to e-mail the manager if the person putting it in 'resolved' isn't the manager, took care of it (we also tweaked things so that tickets that are 'complete' are assigned to the manager, since the approval process wasn't working out like we wanted). Sorry if it got overly…
  • We do want to use it, but we don't want it to be available until after a manager has approved it (we want a step between the tech finishing the work and the ticket going to the client for closing).
  • We thought about that - we do have asset tags - but they're usually small stickers and on the back/underneath the computer. We are organizing everything based off that number but we don't think/expect most users will be able to easily find it.
  • Both servers (the Patch Manager and the Orion one) are using 2012 R2. Dameware (running from the same server as Patch Manager) did manage to send out the WoL packet... I'll look into that though; I think Dameware might have a schedule option, and if all else fails I can just put a scheduled task on the computers to turn…
  • I'm using version 2.1, which I believe is the current version still. I did try the things listed in that first link (the re:wol one) but they didn't change anything. I hadn't seen that second one yet but I don't think I've gotten that far along (still is good to know for when I do get it working). I haven't opened a ticket…
  • Hrm... I'm using version 12 so I'm not sure if this is available in 11 or not, but a workaround I've found is to use the remote command to open up a console and use the 'wmic GET USERNAME' command. It's obviously not as easy as having it show up right next to the computer name but it's at least a way to find it. That might…
  • I've been trying to do this too... the only way I could find to install it was to use the server installer on the workstations (and then in the configuration turn off the server/internet gateway/etc); otherwise there's no option to use centralized mode. I was also unable to find an .msi file for the Remote Support program…
  • I vaguely know what you're describing from an older job I had (Dameware would do that and we just ignored/got used to it), but I wasn't able to duplicate the problem with it here. I'm on 12 though - it might be something they did away with in the later versions, if updating is an option for you? Sorry I can't give you…
  • Is 'Other Locations' a custom field that you set up? I'm not seeing that field in our Web HelpDesk (just location); if that's the case then I think the options display in the order they are set up - you would need to go to setup -> clients -> client custom field, then re-order the fields from there so that they are…
  • Hrm... there's probably an easier way to do it, but I think you would want to make a new report for this - ticket report for the report type, then for the report details set time range to specific, then enter the month in question (like September 1st to September 30th). You could sort it by departments or clients, but I…
  • Disregard; I mis-understood the question.
