Congrats pballard!

Morning Thwackers! Just dived on to have a go at Q9 to find it's bugged. It asks you to pick two, but the answers are set as radio buttons (can only select one) instead of check boxes Damn adecisco1, you're fast!
-
Cheers for the up-votes, dragoon231 and bartley! The only way we can get this to the attention of the developers is if we ask people that we know on Thwack to support this idea. If you could do this, it'll increase the chances of this being implemented in future!

Congrats bosco777! Hope you have a blast with it!

YES! Bracket Battles are my favourite events on THWACK

sqlrockstar, thanks so much for this! I'm a neophyte DBA. By that I mean I started as an 'Accidental DBA' and have learned some of SQL Server's inner workings over the past couple of years, but I still have so much to learn. These tips will defanately help me ensure that the SQL instances I deploy Orion on are better…

Absolutely. No-matter how much money a contract is worth, your staff are your most precious commodity. Especially in IT. I've seen many great engineers leave a company because they were not given the respect due, either by the company itself, or the clients they supported. If you don't back your staff, you will loose them.…

Definitely network defender. Investment in your staff, budget allowing, is key to help build individual loyalty. Gotta have that workplace vibe too, though, otherwise people will just exit stage left once their training tie in is up. I've seen this first hand. A previous workplace had a 12 month tie-in on external courses…

The alternative to single instance multi-tenancy is using multiple instances, but managing them via Enterprise Operations Console. This would give you similar benefits to multi-tenancy, without the potential of going blind if your main instance goes down. You can mitigate this with proper use of Orion High Availability…

From the hit, the answer seems obvious, and you're right superfly99, the form doesn't seem to accept it. Methinks shenanigans are afoot with the form verification!

Just found my way here, I will take the fight to those web-eating bugs! =B']

Handy information that! Shame I can't download the white paper, my address isn't in the US
-
If you check t he box next to one of your hypervisors, you should be able to click the 'Polling Method' button, which is greyed out on your screenshot. Check the licensing in settings, under "Details>License details", and confirm VMAN Orion is licensed.

Congrats rileymat

lmao

You can add the NetPath endpoints into Orion groups, but it doesn't appear to show any kind of status information this way, which is a real shame:

THWACKCAMP! One of my favourite live streams of the year! Looking forward to it already!

Hybrid is the only sensible solution for enterprise at the moment. The costs of getting data out of your cloudy monisrosity well-planned environment can be ruinous. Plan what your're looking put in the cloud, and keep as much of the use of data moved there to within the same cloud, as much as possible. Monitoring things…

No worries maria.bungau. I'll wait and see what others feed back on this question. Could be my relative lack of experience when it comes to Cisco networking.

Nedry FTW!

Yeah. A report is something that is static, and is either run on demand, or scheduled. An alert is always on (unless you set a schedule), and continuously looks for matches to it's triggers in the current status of the Orion objects, and the actions assigned to each trigger fire off each time there is a match. Both can be…

Hey Dan, The way these feature requests work, is based on the number of votes. So, the more votes this gets, the more likely it'll get some attention from the developers! #bumpsquad

I failed by answering it following the tip Never mind, every day's a school day

Go in through the skylights

The impact of heavier and heavier 'AI' use on the environment is a worry of mine. It's a great set of new tools, but it isn't true AI right now, just a fancy set of LLMs, trained on often dubious data. It's also making people increasingly lazy, and also driving unrealising expectations from managers as far as timescales…

Great ideas here, @"Deltona" I'd also like to add the ability to specify custom property value assignments as part of a discovery, so I don't have to keep using 'maintenance' alerts to assign values post discovery. While this is more of an edge case, being able to do this would also ensure that newly discovered entities…

Absolutely! We wouldn't be here if THWACK didn't have a good community of IT pros, all striving to help each other be that little more awesome(sauce), every day

Aye, they cheated

Is there going to be a London leg of the World Tour?

Congrats Kristen!
