Have you run tests from your poller and the trouble devices? It could be that the poller's traffic is getting given low priority if you have QoS enabled (as it's all seen as management data) which could be leading to these readings. If you have a busy network it's more likely that low priority packets will be dropped first.

Currently, when you monitor a network device, each 'pair' of FC is recognised as a single interface in NPM. There may be a custom poller you could create to look at the power/light levels on that port, as assign this to your FC interfaces, but this isn't something I have done myself.

Hey hpstech If you're able to use PowerShell to power the query, you can try using Invoke-WebRequest instead. Since you're looking to interrogate a remote system, the method of grabbing the data shouldn't matter, if you're passing a URL to the command. Give it a try and let us know how you get on!

Additionally, you could install SNMP on the problem hosts, configure it, and add them is using SNMP. Where possible, use the Agent, as aLTeReGo quite rightly said. You get a lot more information through it, especially if you have NPM, due to the QoS packet sensors that come with them.
