Are you looking for a report, which is run on demand or scheduled, or are you looking for something which is active, i.e. a view in the web console?

We use a combination of OneNote 2016 and Sharepoint, using Microsoft Office 365. This allows me to share all the information I need with whoever I need to within my business. For secure information and passwords I use Password Safe, with the application installed locally, and the actual password safe file itself shared…

Hey Rick, Here's what is officially supported by VNQM (taken from this link): VNQM 4.1 and 4.2 support the following devices: * Cisco Call Managers from version 6 up to version 10 * Devices with IOS from version 12.X to version 15.X VNQM 4.2 also supports: * Avaya Communication and Media Servers: S87xx, S88xx, and S83xx If…

Apparently, that's past it's End of Sale date: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-4500-series-switches/eos-eol-notice-c51-732500.html Whilst it is supported 'till 2019, that's likely why it's so cheap. As to what it is, I'm sure someone more up to speed on Cisco kit can help.

Hey simont@gudautomotive.com, As mentioned above, the best way to do this is to create a new Node Detail view for the single UPS node, and then assign that node details view to that node: That way, only the UPS node with have the new tab

Hey suja, In Orion, if you navigate to the Message Centre, you view all logs/events/traps for a single node. You can find the Message Centre under the 'Alerts & Activity' menu (new GUI): Once in the Message Centre, you can alter the filter at the top of the screen, and specify the hostname of the device you are interested…

You'll need to set up a Universal Device Poller to do this. First thing you'll need to work out is what MIB's you need to poll for. Run a SNMP walk to the UPS (snmpwalk.exe is in the SolarWindsinstall directory) and save the resulting data. Then the pain starts You'll need to trawl through the resulting output to locate…
-
You might have an idea there! Check to see if there's anything in the feature requests section for NPM already, if not then raise one. It could be something that can be built in to future releases. In the meantime, there might be a separate MIB that returns these values, that you could create a universal device poller for…
-
Very odd. I'm not sure if the snmpwalk.exe tool within the Orion install directory is the same as the one with the Toolset, but it might be worth running this tool against the node, to compare the results. Also, try running the walk using both SNMPv2 and SNMPv3. Perhaps it's only exposed when queried using SNMPv3, although…

Ok, thanks for expanding on this spifa! What you can do is rename the volume itself, to a more friendly name. This will be platform wide, however, and not just for the purposes of Perfstack. You can do this by following this process: * Find the device which hosts the volume in question in manage nodes. * Expand the node…

Hey spifa Could you explain a little more as to what it is you're tying to achieve please?

Hi sdejong123, Do you know what the processes in question are? If so, you can use the Real-time process explorer to setup a new application template to track the individual services/processes and keep an eye on their usages. If your account in SolarWinds has the rights, of course.

Could you give us a little more information on this "managing device"? I assume it's a hypervisor of some kind, maybe Hyper V or VMware?
-
Great post! That's a vast improvement in performance. I've decided, finally, to recommend that my clients migrate to NPM 11.5.2 as many of the nasties that came with the initial 11.5 release have been squished. Good to know it's not just a feature uplift they'll be getting!
-
Hey tigger2. When you add in HA, devices polled by Orion will see the communication coming from any of the three IP addresses you have in your environment post transition, although it'll only be the address for the currently active pool member and the VIP which will be used. For those reading this who are not aware, the…

I like! Great improvement

Check how the community string is set on the server. It could be that you've got the string set as read/write on the server, but in your screenshot you've specified the string in the read only section.

Hey, * First thing to do is check the status of the licensing for your various modules. This is easily done via the SolarWinds Licensing Manager (you'll find it in the program list, under SolarWinds). * Use the SolarWinds Database Manager to check your poller can connect to the database (you'll dine this in the program…

Maybe it's because you're crossing the streams, using SWQL for one aspect and SQL for the other. Alternatively it could be because the value you're using is exclusive to SWQL, and SQL can't see it. I refer to this from time to time. Some of it might be out dated, but the rest is useful: SolarWinds SWIS API Cheat Sheet by…

Could you share the script you're running, as well as the application template itself? With any confidential information redacted ofc. From the OP , the main error you're seeing appears to be with a certificate, or lack of it. Try disabling any security on your script (for testing purposes) and see if it works.

Unless things have become more granular in SAM 6.2 access to the service control is a binary setting. i.e. it's either on for all servers/services or it's off. Whilst you can add a AD user group as a group account in SolarWinds, you can't currently pick and choose which services a specific group can have control of.
-
I believe this means that the installer has detected that the machine you're installing SAM on is using a proxy. Is this correct?
-
Good read.I'd move this to a document post, rather than a question, it'll get more views and help more people that way. IMHO you need to explain where the SQL backups would go in your example, as you've not specified (the 'extra storage' on the pagefile drive wouldn't be enough). Whilst some people will be be happy to…

Hey theuns303@gmail.com, As janene16 suggested, the first thing to do would be to run the SolarWinds Configuration Wizard, and check the boxes to repair the website, services and database. Whilst it could be an issue solely with the database, repairing all three will ensure that any links are also restored. Before doing…

As humejo mentioned, if you're going to upgrade from 10.1.1, you may as well upgrade to 11.5.2, unless there are hardware/database engine restrictions prohibiting you from upgrading to the newest version? I recently carried out an upgrade for a client who was on 10.0.1, and wanted to go to 10.5.2. If it helps you, the…

Hey paullson In NCM, you can construct the command as you would execute it in the command line. You paste these into a new script, and you can then execute this on as many devices as you need too. Just make sure your device templates are correct, so NCM knows the commands to get in and out of privileged mode etc. My…

Was NTA installed as a stand alone instance, or installed on top of other modules?

Is the backup location on the NetApp accessible to LEM? You could try adding the NetApp location to LEM (not sure about the connectors that would need to be used), and search those?
-
Hey sbogdan! A: There will be built in templates for these already available in NPM and SAM. You'll need both to get what you want out of the system. If you can't find what you're looking for, try looking through the 'Shared Templates on thwack' area (third tab in the manage application templates area of SAM settings) as…

Have you run tests from your poller and the trouble devices? It could be that the poller's traffic is getting given low priority if you have QoS enabled (as it's all seen as management data) which could be leading to these readings. If you have a busy network it's more likely that low priority packets will be dropped first.
