Any more information on what the new NetPath feature will do/require to get working?
-
Signed up today (should have done it weeks ago!). Looking forward to getting this on my lab! Exciting times
-
If I could give this six stars, I would. Combines two of my favourite things in Orion: PerfStack and Custom Properties
-
Hey wesselp, A couple of things to check (before carrying out any of these, ensure you have a backup of your Orion database!): * On your Primary Polling Engine, run the SolarWinds License Manager app and confirm that all licensing information is correctly shown. * If you have not yet done so, reboot your PPE, and check if…

Does the capacity for the C drive on that VM match what is shown in the component views? For that matter, does both of them match? If you have at any point expanded the C drive on this server, what you could be looking at is the old disk, before it was expanded. A 25GB system drive is rather stingy, so I wouldn't be…

See if you can create a report, based on a the 'count' of the specific syslog message you're looking for. You can then add a custom chart resource to a view, based on the content of that report, which will give you what you need.
-
What are your trigger actions? Could you post a screenshot of those please? If possible, list any variables which are being called in any emails sent.

Whilst I've not had any problems with maps on EOC, perhaps you need to run them through the converter: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Importing maps into Orion EOC 1.5 Whilst it specifies EOC 1.5,and you're on 1.6, this might help. I also suggest logging a support call through the customer portal or via this page.

Hey jasonflory Are all of the problem devices managed via SolarWinds? Are you receiving other monitoring information from them, and the other interfaces, correctly?
-
I wonder what would happen to the UK, if we did vote for 'BREXIT'? Technically we'd cease to be part of Europe. Maybe they'd have to rename it to EMEAUK (Europe, Middle East, Africa and the UK)?? Nah, we'd be mashed in with the EMEA anyway, of course

I'm glad you guys decided to make it a separate group, rather than a full-blown new community! Great job! I look forward to helping the inevitable new group of Thwackers get to grips with Orion and it's associated modules
-
Mission Complete! I had to re-do some of the original 'You Don't Know Thwack' steps, such as removing bookmarks from the "what we're working on" thread under Blogs & Groups > Announcements > Featured Content. It may be one of these steps that are missing for you guys!

Do you have a separate database server for both the main Orion database and optional (but recommended) NetFlow database (if using NTA 4.1)?
-
You could export the content of the relevant table from the database, and have a butchers that way. To test the alerts are actually working, add your own email address to the alert recipients for the issues in question (if appropriate), then test fire the alerts using the test fire alerts tool. You'll know that the…

From what I can gather, you're wanting to create a NOC view our of pages which themselves are NOC views?
-
For NPM previous to 11.5: In the advanced alert you have setup (I'm assuming from your explanation that you have one), click the 'time of day' tab. Select valid times times between 14:00pm and 06:00am. Give that a try.

Give this a try on a small section of nodes: Swap 'em to agent based polling, then run a Network Discovery against these nodes, then import the new information en-masse. If that does the job, you can do your work in sections, running the discovery on each batch as you go. If this doesn't work, you could simply assign the…

Have recently attended, and had the honour of guest presenting at, SWUG:London, I heartily agree with you jahern! In general, User Groups are a fantastic way to get a great cross-section of your user group in a room, engaged and talking about your product. When organised well (All hail DanielleH for her fantastic work…

The customisation options available for the Orion website is limited. All I can suggest is doing a search on the website folder for the unmanaged.gif to find all the locations it is used.
-
Since you're having the issue polling your poller from your poller, and as such there should be nothing blocking it, check if SNMP/WMI have died a death, as clubjuggle suggested. Failing that, give the Orion services a bounce in your next maintenance window. Might even be worth bouncing the server while you're at it. I…

Congrats to the new peeps, and a hearty nod to me old chums!
-
Hey mcordice. This is easily done. Simply adjust the following for your polling interval and you're golden: NB: Ensure that check box is ticket!
-
Further to HolyGuacamole's sage advice, you could get around this if you can route traffic using a NAT rule, and add the node in a second time using the NAT IP address. Fiddly, but possible
-
Try selecting a lesser number of nodes, then try to change the pollers. You may be hitting the SQL response time limit which is why you're seeing the SWIS error. If you're trying to edit all your nodes at once, this is likely your problem.
-
Hey anuj, See my response to your other question on the same issue.
-
Hey jokerfest Few questions first: * Where is your NetFlow Storage Database stored (assuming you're on the newer versions)? * When you click on NetFlow summary in the Orion web console, are you seeing any current information? Judging from just your screenshot, it appears you have NTA installed but none of your devices…

Hi evans8182 What you're looking for is the Maintenance Mode option: Go to Settings>All Settings>SAM Settings and click on Manage Application Monitors. Choose the parent template name you're looking to 'disable', and in the assigned template copies in the list to the right, you need to disable by checking the boxes next…
-
Hi cwbojarski, What you'll be looking at is a report that uses SQL to generate the results. On your primary polling engine, open the Database Manager (you'll find this within the SolarWinds application folder). Add in the default server (generally your Orion SQL server), and take a look at the contents of the 'SysLog' and…
-
Can you click those errors? When you see those, you can usually click on them to get the option to save the error report locally. If you do, could you post the sections where errors are listed? 9 times out of 10 when you have these issues you'll need to log a support call, and submit diagnostics from your poller(s) so…

If you're running NPM 11.5, you can use the Desktop Notification Tool: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/sam/content/samagdesktopnottop.htm If you're using older versions, you can follow this workaround: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Enabling audible alerts (Play a Sound action) on Windows Server 2008
