Hah! I bet that's so way from where the devices actually live! Thanks alexrich

csblakely have you tried VMAN yet? It's a great product, laser focussed on virtualisation management. You can download a free trial and give it a go, you may find you prefer it over using Profiler, as it'll give you a lot more information on your hypervisor estate

Hey dbegin Do you have any metrics on the IOPS available to the storage that your LEM sits on? The bottleneck could be access to the storage.
-
Aye, I've tested it, and it does indeed work the way I outlined. If you have a limited account, when they run a report which shows all nodes, the reports results will only show the data which the account limitation allows them to see. For example, if you had a Custom Property (CP) linked to nodes, called 'Company', and the…

Cool. I feel a little less of a numpty

Do you have one of the devices you are using handy? Plug it in locally and run a SNMPwalk to the device (you'll find the SolarWinds crafted tool if you search for snmpwalk in your Orion install directory). Since the device you're testing with is in your possession, you can physically look on the device to find the serial…

No problem jfernandez@bfgcom.com. With the SAM template, I was referring to the possibility of monitoring MSM's processes, so you can keep an eye on what is watching your Meraki devices The Universal Device Pollers are part of NPM. which most users tend to have as the foundation of their Orion product suite. You'll need…

No worries. Still, from what others have said this isn't an isolated issue. So perhaps it should be at least investigated. Maybe log a ticket with support and ask them to investigate it further? That has to have been extremely frustrating.

Hey skipcourt Check if the MIBs are supported by your devices by doing a lookup on their MIB support page: http://www.cisco.com/public/sw-center/netmgmt/cmtk/mibs.shtml It's possible that kit supplied by your provider either doesn't have the MIB enabled or doesn't support them on that model. Whilst the base model may be…

I believe they mean an Orion individual account, rather than a local admin account here mate: In this case the account is stored in the Orion database, and only gives access to Orion and it's other modules, not the server itself Incidentally I tried this myself, and it did speed up access to Network Atlas. Previously I was…

No worries. Generally, there'll be a device view for every model type. You'll need to specify your new view for each of the models you want to see the new view for.
-
Brilliant. Thanks for that Seashore!

Good point aLTeReGo! I wonder if STM Profiler will ever be binned in favour of the integrated SRM? I'm sure you'll get there in the end but the split brain nature of the product has put clients off, in my experience In fairless, looking at the more recent updates, it looks like the devs are working towards this nirvana.

Thankya kindly LokiR!

In addition to mesverrum's comment, if you could link the feature request to this conversation, it'll help you get more support for the idea from upvotes to the feature request from people with the same issue you outline here

Drat That gives us additional evidence that limitations simply do not work with the capacity resources, which is a real shame.
-
Oddly, I've just tried to filter this resource using a custom property, and nomatter which way I put in the filter, it complains that the query to SWIS failed. For example, I have a custom property named 'Owner' in my demo environment. I constructed the filter thus: NodesCustomProperties.Owner= 'Comms%' If I were to query…

Morning! What were you trying to filter the resource on?

Desktop Notification Tool Check this link out. It explains how to configure the tool once you've installed it.

Jiri is correct. The licence manager needs to be setup first, by the sounds of it. You can find the setup program in: Start>All programs>SolarWinds Run 'SolarWInds License Manager Setup'. Once that's completed, go back to the same start menu folder to find a shortcut to 'SolarWinds License Manager'. Executing this will…

Hey m-milligan Incidentally, does your database maintenance run on time, without failures? If there is an index issue, it could mean that the Orion maintenance schedule is not running correctly.
-
What I would check is the device configuration. it could be that every device had NetFlow enabled using a script, and there was a mistake with it which is causing NTA to throw up errors. Any chance you could post a snippet of the config showing just the NetFlow commands? (sanitised to remove sensitive information, natch).

In the alerts, under reset actions, create a new email action. This will send you emails when the alert condition clears.
-
You shouldn't need to copy that alert, as it will pick up the new template and any components of that template. If you wanted to add specific actions which only apply what the Barracuda application breaches your thresholds, then create a new alert looking just for the application name.

Alwayus happy to help! Glad you got it sorted jokerfest!

With this method it will be static, but if you have your browser refresh often, when it reloads the report (and hence the chart) it'll refresh the data. i.e. if your report is set to look at the data for the past hour, and the chart which is based on it reloads, it'll be up to date. But if the report is set to last month,…

No problem. Let us know how you get on

Ok, worth a shot My advice then is to log a support ticket through the SolarWinds Customer Portal. In preparation, on each of your pollers open 'Orion Diagnostics' and then, when the program loads, click 'start' and then choose somewhere convenient for the diagnostics to save when complete. It'll crate a .zip file which…
-
I doubt you'll be able to wing it, then. The NTA data alone would murder the IO on your NIC, let alone the other elements you'll be monitoring (default polling intervals).

Sure @"itengineer" You can add as many trigger actions as you need :)
