If the website you're monitoring has a static IP address (i.e. it's not on more than one host/IP address), you can add it to SolarWinds via 'Manage Nodes' under settings. When adding the node, put in the public IP address for the website, and choose ICMP only as the polling method. Once it has been polled successfully,…

Anything interesting in the 'SolarWinds.net' log shown in Windows event viewer fitzy141?
-
No worries frama. Glad you got it sorted!
-
Not too sure. The problem with the custom html resource is that it's designed to show static content, rather than pages which need authentication. You might be able to get it to work buy chaining the feeds in one resource, but I expect it'll be one loooooong window that way. Maybe add in a few custom html resources and add…

Ok, no worries. How big is your environment? How many nodes?
-
Thanks aLTeReGo. I'll float my feature request for now, as it's a little more specific IMHO. Hopefully the all-powerful devs will come up with a solution

Hey @"tony.johnson". Could you share which option in advanced settings turns this off please? My client has a ticket with support on this exact issue (#00481456), and as I'm a big fan of helping my cleints help themselves, if you could share the correct toggle, I can resolve this ticket for them. In advanced settings, I…

Houston, we have a problem.... * Maintenance completed OK last night * Nothing under the StreamedResults directory - Not sure if this is good or bad. * All private queues are empty. So from this perspective it's all gravy. However, that handy little query you gave me showed that we have no new updates since 17:42 yesterday…

jbiggley, thanks. That's some great knowledge you have there! Every day is a school day. I'll check it out!
-
janene16, I will certainly try!
-
Nothing specific right now, but as my business is now an SolarWinds Authorised Reseller, I'll be demoing this (and plenty of other modules) soon to potential clients I'll drop you a PM if I have any specific queries, if you don't mind, to keep this thread clean
-
Maybe the solution jstinson@l1s posted above would help? It'll only solve the email address conundrum. Perhaps you have an idea for global custom properties! Make a feature request if one does not already exist and link it here. People may vote it up enough that it'd be implemented.

Ok, thanks for entertaining my curiosity
-
I second this! If you could share the query, it would help others replicate this

I was referring to the credentials specified under the section 'Credential For Monitoring'. As you rightly said, the script will be executed under the security context of the credential set named 'PG.Mon.Admin'. As long as this user has sufficient rights on the target system to execute all aspects of the script, it should…

I wonder if Server and Application Monitor's 'AppInsight for SQL' would do something similar to DLM, i.e. tracking changes in tables?... That's genius, bluefunelemental, kudos to you for thinking out of the box, sir!

I believe the $(Property) format is being redacted, they certainly no longer work with alerts in the newest version (according to the documentation). If you read a little further down they speak about adding F=x to specify the format of the variable. So for you it would be: ${N=SwisEntity;M=VolumePercentUsed;Fx} Where x is…

No problem Matt, glad to be of assistance! Hope it all works for you going forward. If not, fling me a PM and I'll help if I can!
-
Tidy. Glad you got it sorted mate!
-
If your instance is available externally via a public URL, do you get the same problem? Do you have SSL enabled on the Orion website? Check the authentication permissions of the site in IIS, just in case something funky is going on there.
-
Not a problem. I hope they get it sorted out for you!

Network Sonar Discovery is the option you're looking for

Or... I could have bought one without realising the Pi 3 had wifi built in, as I'm a pi n00b It was only £8 so, didn't eat into the gift card too much!

Run a SNMP walk to one of your printers, and in the output look for the serial number. Make a note of the MIB, and create a new UnDP for this specific MIB. It could be that the printers you have use different MIBs to the ones in the template jhandberg shared. Plus it's great UnDP practice! EDIT: The snmpwalk.exe program…

Huzzah! Hope they get back to you promptly mate!
-
Hmm. That is a little odd. Have you tried running the configuration wizard, and repairing everything? This can resolve odd issues like this.
-
The trial versions do have keys, but they are built in to the installers, and you should never need to know what they are. I'd escalate this to SolarWind support now dennis.shiburi@alteram.co.za. There is little that we can do for you remotely I'm afraid.
-
Nice! Glad that worked out for you red888!
-
Thanks man. I'll keep these somewhere handy, just in case they're needed down the line. Do you know if these were missing indexes which are usually there, or were they added by your DBAs to improve on what SolarWinds had configured by default?
-
Aha, thanks mharvey. I am in the dark no longer lol
