Cheers Kev, those are golden links for anyone who has security questions around cryptographic hardening and the SolarWinds Platform. Looking at the 'BEFORE' state, the only things which were missing, according to IIS Crypto, were: > SHA1 from Hashes. > Diffie-Hellman from Key Exchanges. The issue must have been caused by…

I would like to add that I expect it was not just TLS involved here, as I'm fairly confidant that only have TLS 1.2 enabled should be fine with the latest version. No other updates to share other than this, as yet.

Check that the DNS services are running, and that it can respond to lookups. If it does, and you can get a lookup response from both pool members, then check the server logs for any clues, both Windows and SolarWinds logs in %programdata%

On the effected node's summary page, from the management widget, click 'List Resources', and locate the sub-interface in question, click the arrow to the left of it's name and confirm that the three statistics (or only the ones you are interested in!) are checked. Hit submit to confirm the changes or cancel if no changes…

This was going to be my suggestion, also. When added as an external node, you can still attach other monitoring to the external node, such as SAM application monitoring templates etc.

This is OOTB functionality for Network Configuration Manager, but not something which can be done with NPM alone. @"donrobert5" linked some useful KBs for you to peruse. If you do not currently have NCM, depending on your version, so long as you are on 2022.3 or newer, you can take advantage of an 'instant evaluation'. The…

Ah, if it's a Linux server, you'll likely need to get PoSH installed first. This link may help: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/scripting/install/installing-powershell-on-linux?view=powershell-7. The link above details the Windows-centric SAM template, it may not work at all on Linux hosts, even if PoSH is…

Hi @"Roei-Sagi" There are some SAM components out of the box which will help, but if you need some guidance, check the below template: Log Parser (PowerShell) - Application Monitor Templates - Server & Application Monitor - THWACK (solarwinds.com)

Hi @"RussM" While you mention you have followed the manual Exchange changes, in the past I have had issues when these step wither were missed, or something within the AD security/GPO removes the group memberships. Double check the below steps, to eliminate this being the issue! Good luck! Grant Exchange access To grant…

What you could do is have an alert which looks at the LastBoot/Boot Time timestamps, and triggers when the time since last boot hits the required interval. The trigger action could include running a script which reboots the server, or if they are VMs, and you have VMAN, you can use the reboot VM action... Many ways to get…

If I understand it correctly, it's more about query response than data loss. If you change the collation, it's possible that you'll see an impact on the data retrieved. It's really something for a DBA to answer, than for us THWACKsters to advise.
-
Ah. Yes, that's correct. Unfortunately the default group view is the same for all groups. What you'd need to do is setup a custom view, and use the view limitation options beneath the columns to limit it to a specific group, and give them the link. The only thing to be careful of is that the map will also be constrained to…
-
If I'm understanding you correctly, you are trying to edit one of the default views, but it is reverting post-change. What version of SolarWinds are you using? If it's fairly rec1ent, what you would be better of doing is creating a custom view (a 'classic' view would be simplest to start with), adding the following…

Did that fix your problem @"m-milligan"?

Ah, in that case, the simplest thing to do is to move all nodes from the Primary to the APE. You can do this via Manage Nodes or Manage Elements. I will explain the process of doing this via Manage Nodes, as that is the default view people use. Before I do this, however, please make sure that your APE can reach all your…

Hello there! The first server you install is always your primary server, unless you rebuild it. The primary server has things installed on it, such as the reporting and alerting engines, which APEs do not, and cannot have. Unfortunately you cannot promote an APE to a Primary. You can, however, rebuild the primary server,…

Hi If the above is what you need, you'll need to download the file attached to the link you shared, and then use the Universal Device Poller Win32 application which is installed on your Main Polling Engine to assign them to the relevant servers. This requires SNMP to be enabled on the device, and to have the polling method…

Can you tell us more about the use-case here @"itengineer"? There might be other ways of doing what you need.
-
Hi @"hallstev5" Did you manage to sort this out? Let us know if you still need assistance!
-
You would be better served by having one of the polling engines designated as the preferred member of the HA pool, and have that in the prime DC, and have the secondary HA pool member at the DR site, both on their permanent IP addresses. Orion doesn't gracefully handle changing the IP addresses of polling engines.

Hey @"Sumit12" Make sure you understand the traffic you'll be pushing to and from the cloud. In hybrid deployments (and more so in 100% cloud installations) it's the traffic and 'access numbers' which cause the cost to go up, and also cause problems with polling reliability. Nail the firewall/routing issues early in your…
-
Hi @"sredmond" Take a look at the bullets below. Hopefully going through these will help you get to the bottom of yoru problem: * Check the Message Center for the time/date of the pool failover events: Change the filter to the hostname of the previous primary server of the HA pool, and review all event and audit events…

Try changing the format of the cells in Excel. The general format might be misinterpreted as text by the import.

Hi @"Aniket". If could you give us a little more detail on what you are looking to achieve with Orion please, we can then perhaps guide you a little more difinitively

Sorted

You'll be fine. If you need to have a chat or anything, hit me up

Well... this is a surprise @"yumdarling"! Thank you for your dedication over these past few years. The ship has been sailing mighty fine in your stewardship, and we'll all be sad to see you go! Be well, and all the best in your future endeavours!
