I second that

If it comes down to Transformers vs NERF... I'll have to toss a coin!

Indeed. All the little zeroes and ones need to live somewhere, and many people are looking at SDDC's to provide the new home for their binary chums =B'] I expect many of the "someone else's kit" vendors will do the same, as it's appears to scale much better, at least when someone else has to worry about provisioning the…

Indeed! Simple monitoring and views, coupled with well crafted alerts and suitable escalation levels, leads to less headaches for Operations management If there's a TSHHIF scenario, if you make the Ops manager the final point of escallation, they'll know what's going on before they turn up to work, meaning less lambasting…

+1 internets. While I worry just how many NOC agents will be out of work once AI can start handling technical workflows, it’s inevitable. If SWI can get there first, then it’ll help further improve their visibility.

This is a great mission! I didn't know how far Service Desk had come in the use of AI. I may well have to consider using it at my own business.

Once we'd seen the play-in, people who used TWEETZ to read the mind of those with the smart money would have known where this bracket battle was going to go.... it might have taken a few attempts though... darn that 140 character limit! For next year, how about looking at the MVP introduction thread, and picking the…

LOL @ Divine Intervention. If that was a real badge, I'd wear it!

In my experience, a good Desk is one that combines both. The help desk description defines good operations of a 1st line team: They answer the calls, raise the tickets, inform the relevant internal resource that there is work to be done, and so on.These guys are key to any organisation which provides a SERVICE to clients…

Same here, no prompt for size. My order number is 5464, can I have XXL please?

*hat tip* why, thankya kindly! Jfrazier

Overall, this is a good change, but as I have to wear all the hats in my business, I can also see the potential negative impact this may have elsewhere. On the engineering side, consolidating the version numbers with that of the Orion Platform is great. It will demystify much of the upgrade process for the layman, which…

I'm quite annoyed with myself that I missed this challenge. I will enjoy going back and reading what was said, as it looks like this was one for the books!

OMG,..... those Hufflepuff books!

Whichever modules are relevant at the time ;) Most of my clients have the holy trinity, NPM, SAM, NCM, which covers most incidents, but it is handy to add in metrics from other products when it's relevant, SRM being one which pops up often.

+1 for Airwolf. They should use a black Comanche this time, though:

Awww... shucks! Being a SolarWinds MVP is the crowning achievement of my career. I'm sure I'm speaking for the rest of the crew when I say that I'm proud to be here! Feel free to follow and ask us questions, folks!

Nicely done adatole The new API component really does expand the capability of SAM into undiscovered country.

Blade Runner, surely? It's an awesome film.

Snoopy, the original cartoon dog, can fly his dog house... that's just something that Scooby can't compete with!

Fantastic article sqlrockstar! The moral of the story is 'Don't be a D!ck!'. Business in general has become more and more hostile, the more money is involved. Delta's CEO deserves a gigantic pat on the back for standing up on this, and his entire company is an example to all enterprises. Be nice, be honest and be…

Quick question on this: Just added a client org to NPM. I'm seeing their entire AP estate (awesome), but none of the Meraki switches, which are shown in the Meraki Dashboard itself. For example, if site A has a single Meraki switch, with 4 APs hanging off of it for POE, I can see the switch in the Meraki Dashboard, but…

Ah, I suspected as much. Thanks man. Saves me a shed load of time trying to troubleshoot the impossible I guess it'll be a two step process after all? Script for the node info, export/import for the custom properties? No other way to do it?

Classy!

Hear hear, Leon! Lean what you want to learn. Bask in the glory of you enthusiasm, but do not covet they neighbours knowledge! Simply own, what you know, and learn what you wish to learn. Enthusiasts truly excel in the end

Nice write up, maxmortillaro!

Hey pratikmehta003 First thing to do, would be to check the hypervisors have the right credentials in 'edit properties'. to successfully poll the data. Check THIS portion of the VMAN Administration Guide for assistance.

I use good 'ole Notepad++ ~(other methods of making notes are available). I kick off a new text file as soon as I've got to site, and jot down every step I take in getting to the objective of the day. I then file it away under the relevant client, putting the date in the filename so it's easy to find it in the future. I do…

Only one like is not enough, so I will post this in addition:
