Sounds like a bug to me.

Faheed, Where in the product would you want this implemented? You could use whatever you want internally for nmaing conventions, and there are ticket e-mail templates in various places in WHD that can be modified.
-
Sounds like an interesting idea. We ran into a situation recently where we had someone submit a ticket with an equipment request for someone else, but we had to change the client on the ticket, as the approval process is tied to the client (by location). Having a separate creator on the ticket would help address this issue.

Please, please.... You can use the problem / incident functionality, but it really isn't the same as having a proper "Related Ticket" functionality.

There is the "Backup Tech" setting available under Setup - Techs: Backup Tech The Tech to whom Tickets escalated to this Tech should be forwarded when the Tech is not scheduled to work or is on vacation. In addition to escalations, the Backup Tech is also used for new Tickets having a Request Type that is not included in a…

Sreed, Good feedback - appreciate it. I think most people are in a "I'll believe it when I see it" mode right now. I am remaining cautiously optimistic, and I have a call set up with Brandon.

Sounds like a fantastic idea, but pretty ambitious. I agree that this would be incredibly useful. Maybe an add-on of some sort?
-
Excellent idea! The ability to copy existing objects is a huge time saver in any system.
-
Parent / Child was there before. Not exactly how I would like to use it, but it at least provides a workaround.
-
Adrian, Don't forget to vote up your own requests.
-
Agreed - this would be a handy feature, and a good productivity tweak.
-
This is already a feature request - please see: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/2962 and vote up there.
-
Sounds like a useful feature!

Sounds like a great idea!

There doesn't seem to be much response from SolarWinds on this forum. Try the Solarwinds forum on SpiceWorks - they have a massive, very active user community with a dedicated SolarWinds community rep. Spiceworks also makes a great free (ad-supported) IT Tool for small-medium business (including ticketing, but not as…

Got it. Sounds like a feature request...

Haven't even looked yet - I have been following a number of posts on the SolarWinds WHD forums, but I don't believe any of them have been resolved yet. I used SpiceWorks at a former employer, and it's a great tool, but it's different from WHD - it does a much better job of some things, and has a lot more functionality in…

Great idea! Not entirely sure of what structure would work for everyone, but we also often have multiple techs working on a project ticket. Would need a fair amount of thought put into the design, as I am sure there are some far-reaching implications to doing this.
-
Audit trail would be excellent, and save a ton of time on manually documenting.
-
Typhoon87, Merging and linking tickets are not the same. Sounds like what you are talking about is linking tickets - see https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/2962 Merging combines one ticket into another, and typically closes the ticket that was merged (used for duplicate tickets, rather than related tickets (which are…

It would be nice to push-button queries, views, etc. on toolbars (similar to a "Favourites Bar" in a browser) in the various screens. The "Unassigned Tickets" is one example, but I am sure people would come up with many others.

Great idea!

Has anyone tried the "Client Admin" functionality? This may provide some of what you want (for example, if there is an admin person at a remote site that submits tickets for users at that site). I tend to agree with rjtoney's comments - I think that having multiple clients on a ticket breaks the design of the system, and…

Better beta than nothing (or a buggy release)...
-
Great idea!
-
I believe this may already be a feature request. At my previous employer, we also used this, and built it into our in-house solution that we developed. Very useful.
-
800 - ouch. Sounds like a simple change to resolve a design restriction.
-
Brilliant idea!
-
Ah - gotcha.

Good find - this is a great idea.
