Congrats sleavitt. It looks great, post some photos when you get it!

Aye, I also think the letter given at the moment in Q13 is a typo.

I said to myself at the start that Chewbacca would make it all the way but I did not post.... wait... if I didn't post it on thwack, did it even happen?

You will still have basic syslog/trap management functionality without installing Log Viewer/Analyzer but there are limitations. All management is handled via separate applications on the SolarWinds server (Trap Viewer and Syslog Viewer) and the alerting is handled via those separate tools and don't integrate with the…

No fancy shirt but still... Edit: Winter approaching... will need to organise a hoodie!

I saw in the release notes for 2023.3 a reference to improving the Worldwide Maps. "WorldWide map updates: modifiable WorldWide Map API key support." I found the new settings for this under the Web Console Settings but as far as I can tell you can only select MapQuest as the provider which SolarWinds are currently using…

Hey rschroeder - it should be in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds. The file is MIBs.cfg. This is from an NPM 12.1 I had running in a lab VM..
-
Oh I agree that it would be easier to be able to manage your own MIBs or at least have a custom MIB area that SolarWinds could load in addition to the main one. I just happened to notice the 1 GB MIB on my server the other day and was surprised as a year ago it was 512 MB. Could also just be some bug on my server.

Haha, I have the same internal thought process when customers ask how long it will take to upgrade SolarWinds.
-
I'm not completely colour blind but I do have issues with some shades of red and green. So far it hasn't been an issue with SolarWinds but good to know they've been doing some testing for colour schemes.

I agree with your comment in another thread though... it's lucky you didn't include the Weeping Angels as you may as well call it there!

Hmmm, pizza. That's a good idea!

Legal reasons typically around contests. For example, in Australia the laws regarding contests are controlled by and vary between the states. Games of skill (users submit an answer or entry and a judge selects the best entry) don't require a permit. Games of chance (where there is an element of chance with an entry, e.g.…

dkatsanis wrote: Is there any such thing as "a max average network utilization"? I've written a report before where it would grab a weeks worth of interface data and convert it into hourly averages. The report would then also show the max of this average utilisation. This would help curve out the data if there were only a…

Radioteacher Speaking of holidays - our next public holiday normally isn't until first Tues of November for a horse race (Melbourne Cup). The state government decided this year to make another public holiday for the Friday before the football (AFL) Grand Final in October. So our next two public holidays are for sports...…

Confirming if someone has upgraded to the 2020.2.6 RC, will they have to upgrade again to the GA or are there no changes?

If I am reading the issue correctly, you should already be able to do this. Click on the icon in the row and it should open a new window giving you options for remediation (just that node or all nodes violating the policy). Clicking on the remediation options takes you to a screen where you can insert the remediation…

I'm still in shock at the drop bear loss!

What versions are you running? Or if you have already upgraded, what versions were you running?

It's the 1st of April here. I first thought this announcement was an April Fools!

I have a lack of creative juices... but I can submit pictures!

How about the ability to "disable" individual alert actions in the web based alerting environment instead of deleting them ? I thought you could already disable individual actions in the web-based environment? Admittedly, it would be nice to be able to do it from inside the alert itself as well. - Manage Alerts -> Action…

The map is kept in the database so if your database is backed up, you should have your maps backed up also. Alternatively, you could open up each map in Network Atlas and use Save As to save it locally, and then backup those files.

This is brilliant!

My friend has told me of a few physical security issues he has come across in his job. Facility 1 - Guards at front, keypasses etc to get in. The works. He walked around the building - one of the side/back doors was propped open with a milk crate for the employees out having a smoke break. Facility 2 - Biometric locks to…

As we are primarily a Cisco partner, I would assume the company sees more value in Webex from a marketing/demonstration point of view. With regards to remote access, it is rare that we need to access a workstation without a user. If the support calls are workstation related, the user prefers to be there but in the majority…
