Our instances are often ephemeral and spun up for project so I cannot be doing this manually. We work in a devops model .Might have to look at other products as automation seems to be a stickler for NPM. SDK is good but limited. might even look at robotic process automation for this.

On the routers I select: * All Active Interfaces (we ensure we put ay unused interfaces into administratively down state) * All route tables (L2, L3 and BGP if available)

Thanks so much JVB! Really helpful. Is there a list of the ones missing? For example I can;t see any NTA Widgets
-
Thanks for the info. Hopefully will make it to the product soon.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I guess custom properties is the way to go. It's a pity it can't be scoped directly to a group membership.

Just tested and only option appear to be to do as the KB article I linked suggested. This is quite horrible. Why can the system not track the disk ? Disk expansion on Vms would have to be one of the most common admin tasks out there. Also, why does the disk get a new serial number? Makes no sense

Can I ask what an SMOP is? I think you are saying that I cannot change directly but have to almost re-add?
-
Thanks so much for the reply. Anything that can achieve similar/same in 2019.04 ?

Thanks @"ioan_bucsa" ! Really useful. Had a look at this general SWQL query lists the all fields for FixedDisk and mount-points (I should have included mount points as we use them): SELECT TOP 1000 VolumeId, Status, Caption, RawCaption, FullName, StatCollection, VolumeIndex, VolumeType_Value, VolumeType, PollingType_Value,…

Thanks so much! I actually logged this to support and they said there was no such listing. Is this a complete listing do you know? That's why it would be so great to have a SWIS endpoint to list based on entity type. Thanks so much for this though, great help.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated

Thanks for taking time to answer my question! Much appreciated

Can you send a screenshot of this one ?

Thanks! When you say 'custom' though how to do you set this up? Is it adding the custom query to a pre-defined canned Widget (i.e. drop the widget onto a view and define the query) or are you building the widget from scratch (if that's even possible!)?
-
Is there any way to clone that widget to a new one that doesn't include memory or exclude them from the existing one by modifying the underlying query or the like??

This will scale horribly! I host them on a website that's available internally and externally or embedded them with base64 but the latter bloats the mail size and some security products don't like it.

Hi, all virtual machines in my case. Only change I can see is that the VM disk was extended (while VM is online) and then in guest volume is extended.

Thanks for the reply. What I have set in Web Console is I tied to add a chart with 32 CPUs. Ideally I'd like 'Remaining' expanded.

Thanks so much for the solution!

Awesome! I though this was part of NPM and not SAM so never looked there

So idea is to alert on interface and value on that variable?
-
Thanks for the response. I think in my environment it's down to consistency from admins: * Naming convention on network kit * Mgmt. and polling networks * Ensure CDP enabled on directly connected interfaces * Ensure L2/L3 Topology polling enabled and route table/BGP etc. is collected * Ensure convention on interface…

Thanks! Could you give me an example of how to set this up?

Hi, but I can see all the cluster aspects (which server is active etc.) form the Windows Cluster API, CMDLETS etc. So in terms of cluster monitoring do we do the following: 1 - Add the cluster virtual IP as a node monitored with WMI 2 - Run List resources against this node 3 - Run AppInsights for SQL against the SQL…

Thanks for the tip! I really need something in the are of automation, reporting though for this as I have a lot of responsibilities. I automate everything just so I have enough time to do my design/architecture stuff.
-
Hmm, thanks for the reply. Security team are not keen on granting host level admin privileges just for monitoring.

Thanks!

To my knowledge they don't auto deploy when the server contacts the WSUS/Patch manger server. For starters, our servers never contact the patch manager server, why would they? You can set the PM server to deploy the components when it is running a task that needs them but this is not a fully automated process. Furthermore,…

Thank you firstly for taking the time to respond at such length. I could not agree more. I inherited this system and after 3 weeks I am incredibly frustrated with it. I agree it wins in terms of: * Good UI and ability to create dashboards * Easy of implementing script based monitoring But overall, this pales in comparison…
