Greetings, Feature request created: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3538 please vote it up
-
Jiri Cvachovec this would have to be a NPM feature request as well as NPM polls a serial number that is not the Service Tag

This is a good thread. I am planning to upgrade my Checkpoint environment soon and would like to include the new instance in my SolarWinds NPM 10.6 management. networkingkool did you get this resolved?
-
Thnak You alex.lakustov, you suggestion worked I adjusted the variable as you suggested to: IN bps: ${Inbps as Bandwidth} OUT bps: ${Outbps as Bandwidth} the results: IN bps: 2.65 M OUT Bps: 1.79 M

jsilverberg I have a Checkpoint Gaia R77.20 Firewall monitored by NPM and NTA These are the resources that I am monitoring NTA is managing the interfaces as NetFlow sources NTA is getting traffic I can see conversations between my internal clients and the CP firewall, external interfaces and the Internet, not between the…

1ashgarg, yes you do The connection profile is what NCM uses to login to your switch. During automated or manually initiated tasks such as upload\download config, NCM needs to login to the switch in a telnet\SSH session similar to the way you would, to execute the commands You need to define the admin username and password…
-
Verify that your NCM is using the correct SNMP credentials: AND that you have a connection profile with the correct devices - this is what NCM uses to login to your Alcatel devices. You may need to create a new connection profile for your devices that are not working with new login credentials:
-
This is how I remove nodes from NCM, but not NPM Configs > Config Summary > Manage NCM Nodes > Group by Vendor > Select All >Remove Nodes from NCM Select YES and then check NPM - the node should still exist in NPM but not NCM
-
Yes, I believe that you can do this You would need to add a Custom Object Resource to your page Then edit the resource Choose Object Type = Node Select Object Resource = Top XX Domains (Endpoint Centric) Edit Settings to show the Maximum Number of Items to Display that you want E.g. set this value to 20 to show Top 20…

I had this problem with my UDT and DELL switches when my network was flat - all nodes and endpoints in the default vlan (vlan1). Only the devices that had static IP addresses were shoeing up in my UDT. I raised a ticket with SW support and DELL support and the following were their responses: SW - UDT isn't finding any ARP…

Superb, I just created and assigned a custom poller for my all my APC SmartUPS's Great info, thanx for sharing

frama to my knowledge, purge database should remove old data that has been marked as expired or deleted. It should remove references to your old node from the database. Possibly check that in your Configs>Jobs isn't showing "Never" for the "Default Database and Archive Maintenance" job?
-
that is weird indeed. NCM is independent of NPM, so it does not need NPM, but I have seen where they collaborate when they are installed together
-
frama, Do you have NPM installed? Is the node still available in NPM? Can you delete from NPM and then check if it still shows in NCM? Maybe a database purge needed?
-
on the chart that you want to increase, click Edit Change the maximum number to the amount you want click submit that's it
-
NPM will alert you if the link goes down, not if there isn't any traffic. NPM looks at the status of the managed device - interface, node and hardware components among others. in your case NPM was seeing that your node (router) and the interface (links) were up and would not have triggered an alert. if you want to monitor…

Sorry to hear about your breach I use non-solarwinds apps for the following: * When a user logs on to a server * When a users password has been changed / expired / account disabled in AD? ScriptLogic Active Administrator is what I use Solarwinds can generate alerts for: * High traffic over the weekend on the firewall's I/O…

Ok guys, Firstly, thank you for the reply and the information provided. Secondly . . . This might be a step in the right direction for a more productive and efficient application . . . BUT is a massive pain for me if this migration does not reproduce my existing environment exactly to the new environment. I spent quite a…

It is supposed to be done under Manage Node in NCM Select the config you want as the baseline and click SET\Clear Baseline Observe the config change as the baseline config Hope this helps

Update on this Tech Support was able to validate that the problem is similar to yours RichardLetts The issue originates in the UDT database. UDT isn't able to poll the OID that matches the MAC addresses discovered in the L2 devices to the MAC addresses discovered in the L3 device. The OID is present, but the UDT job that…
-
So I was able to clarify with Tech Support, UDT's IP to MAC lookup process. UDT will reach out to the L3 device [my L3 device DELL PCT8132F] and poll it for it's port information and ARP tables, then add that to the database [UDT Database]. For IPs it's simply a matter of polling the ipNetToMediaTable [on L3 Device, in my…

Hello. I have a few PCT6200 switches still managed by NPM, NTA and NCM what are you trying to do with NCM on these switches? Just view config differences? startup configs on the Dell is a bit chaotic with the line numbers. I usually just use running config to view differences every time you change configs, the code gets…
