I'm working on trying to figure out the best way to add a couple of additional component monitors to already assigned templates. These servers are polling via SNMP. Is the "inherit windows credentials from node" option only for devices you poll via WMI? When I add the component and set the credentials to "none" and click…

This particular polling engine can’t resolve to the smtp settings I have setup. I’m fine with that. My question is though about the logs. I enabled logging yet that log file wasn’t created last night. I’d like to know the success/failure rate of devices on that polling engine.

No. Updating that mib file does not update the CISCO-ENVMON-MIB OR CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB. We just ended up disabling the sensors.

Great thanks. You know I saw these options at the blade level but for some reason those tabs just skipped by me at the top level. Were you ever able to get the storage OID's for this thing? Mine has a PERC8 card and a basic mibwalk doesn't show anything at all related to it that I can gather.

If a WLC is down I don't want the Thin Client alarms. Talk me through the steps to build that logic into my alert. I do not believe it is possible. The way I see it in NPM 12 is if you are alerting on "Wireless Access Point" you can not also ad an alert condition on "Wireless Controller"

Thanks. Found this report soon after posting! Very helpful. It should really be a canned report from the get go since the SAM Components number is nowhere to be found.
-
Disregard got it working with the canned SSL template!

I am also trying the different combinations of Rate, Counter, Raw Value and SNMP Get Types. Some return “The OID is not Supported” and others return “No Such Name”. I am going to continue to read about this.

Thanks for the pointers. I am new to some of these features and concepts so forgive me in advance. I was able to find the following by searching however a test fails here. Most of the MIB’s above test successfully. This particular server is running Dell Open Manage v7.4. Thoughts? I haven’t tried the MIB Walk but I am…

Do you have any additional polling engines? Yes, 5 additional. Does this error only appear when using the Real-Time Process Explorer, Service Control Manager, or assigning templates to nodes that are on one (or more) additional polling engines? Yes Does this error occur when performing those actions on nodes that are…

Thanks. So I found out a few things…I updated my default SMTP server to a new server(that I know my questionable polling engine can communicate with). I did that by going to NCM Settings--->SMTP Server. I then went to my job(In 7.2.2 the job engine is integrated into the console) and noticed the job was still pointing to…

I figured out what is happening here. In my scenario I have a list of IP's that span nodes that are on multiple polling engines. When I do the sonar discovery on those IP's and validate then import it doesn't add asset inventory because I selected a polling engine that those nodes do not reside on. The trick is that you…

So the repair did not work? If this is permanently broken then I am going to remove the link altogether from my console.

What was the outcome of this problem?

I'm seeing these same events as well and currently do not have any of the canned stack alerts turned on. So this makes me wonder what is triggering these events to go to the events table? Also, what do you have set for your reset condition stackington?

Did you notice any performance hits on your existing Orion box and pollers when EOC was up and running?
-
Gotcha. I more or less just meant hooking into the DB for information.
-
My company wants to deploy this. Were you polling EOC with the default 300 seconds or something more aggressive. What are your polling rate percentages on each of your polling engines? I have 4 polling engines with the highest rate being at 15%.

We are on NPM 12.1 HF2 that was supposed to of fixed this issue but has not. The steps above were also given to me as a workaround but it is not how the product was designed to function. This is a bug that developers are working on.
-
How about device Serial Numbers? Is that included?
-
Yep figured as much. Just can't seem to find one that tests out successfully anywhere.
-
I just called support and was told to select all three options in that particular step.

I have an update and I was looking at the wrong report before. The report IS web based. Appending &dataformat=xls to the end of the url does not change the display when I copy/past the url with or with out the data formatting option. I am still required to then click to export as excel or click to export as pdf. Below is…

What are they getting...? A PDF? I just tested that and it leaves a lot to be desired. Not to mention the in the picture below these things are backwards? Is there a way to send them an interactive HTML page that doesn't require authentication?
-
I found another table OID that I am going to use. I've picked my label below but can't seem to get the values to show up on my charts in NPM now.
-
How would you get this from SAM on lets say your Cisco Equipment? Is this possible?
-
Is there a Orion log that might show me what is happening that you are aware of?
-
Applying a condition that isolates it to just one node previews fine(5 records) but displays the same thing as before.
-
I did. I actually found the problem by connecting directly to the host via the API as described in this article. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-186617 By doing this I was able to drill down and see where it was reporting the error.

Currently experiencing this exact problem on a host that is set to poll host directly. Any guidance?
