The option to hide is there, just remove the view customization rights for the user and it will not be shown for the user. the issue that Richard is running into looks to be a bug specific to his environment.

out of curiosity, you were using the NPM 12.1 installer. & 6.3. The new installer allows you to do multiple modules at once at those versions. Was there a reason you chose to do the installs separately?
-
how did it go for you?
-
If you're doing a fresh install, you could choose to do one at a time, and it won't blow away data from the database. However, the new orion installer for 12.1 & 12.2 is optimized to allow you to install all of the modules at once so you only have to pay the cost of waiting on the configuration wizard once.

steffen.gutzeit wrote: serena would you have an estimate what a SAM1k would require? My best guess is 1 Orion + 2 APE hardware, so 12 cpu cores and 64gb ram Hi Steffen, It really rather depends on how much monitoring you're planning on doing with components for the 1000 nodes. Do you happen to know the component count?

hi there, the hardware recommendations are not tied to the stacked licenses applied, rather they are more applicable to what are you actually going to poll. So, if you're polling 30,000 components, then you may want to consider going to the XL deployment. @"adam.hert" and I are working to improve the documentation for more…

did you end up ultimately using these? How did it go?

would you be interested in sharing scrubbed screenshots of the views you're looking to display in this fashion? This would be helpful for us to make sure we're considering all options for you to get the view you're looking for.

Hey @"dhinagar_j" with your component based license and 2 APEs stacked, on your main polling engine you can monitor up to 30k components. If you need to monitor more than 30k, then you would want to add another APE license on a separate server. This is because the main polling engine supports up to 10K without a stackable…

@"jfaldmo" a SAM installation is 1 main polling engine, with any associated additional polling engines, HA back up servers and additional web servers. Also, just in case you didn't see, SAM 2020.2 is GA now! https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Product-Blog/Orion-Platform-2020-2-and-it-s-Modules-Are-Now-Generally/ba-p/594348

Hi there! We have a nice release candidate out there that allows you to customize the polling interval. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/SAM-Documents/SAM-2020-2-Release-Candidate-Now-Available/ta-p/590357 the default is 2 minutes.

Hi there! glad to see you're interested in this feature! This is part of the orion platform (see: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/orionplatform/Content/Release_Notes/Orion_Platform_2020-2_release_notes.htm ). For even faster Pingdom integration using the API poller, you can also choose to use the OOTB Pingdom API Poller template! Under API Poller Management -> Click Assign Search for Pingdom and you'll find the template there to help you monitor your transaction checks!

@"zennifer" it's a pleasure to hear your feedback on the hard work that the SAM team has delivered. We're constantly looking to improve. @"ioan_bucsa" that's intended behavior, but certainly one that we've been looking at changing! Thank you for sending that pain point, I've added that to the supporting data to supporting converting over custom built api pollers to be templatized.
-
@"jelliston" that's certainly disappointing to hear. There were certain aspects of agent deployment that were tied to solutions that we utilize that were found to not meet certain FIPS requirements, and were addressed in this release to ensure that we are fully compliant with the requirements there. The product team is…

@"peter6tz" you are correct! NTA still has a requirement for SQL 2016 SP1 or higher. So in this case, you could keep your main Orion db as 2012, set up a new (ideally SQL 2017) specifically for NTA and upgrade your environment. That would keep your main db & OS at 2012, but the only net new set up would be the NTA…

@"cfizz34" regarding your second question, the work being described is specific to application templates. For the full package across node monitoring, we're tracking that work under https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Server-Application-Monitor-SAM/WinRM-Support-for-Node-Management/idi-p/589652 and when @"adam.hert" starts…

@"cfizz34" hi there! Great question. you'll see a triggered alert that will let you know that fallback is occurring. Just look at your alerts under Alerts & Activities!
-
@"mthangav" using the API poller, you'll be able to use direct calls to the API so you won't need to utilize powershell scripts.

This is awesome!

@"james.heads" do you mean support for refresh tokens?
-
@"dhinagar_j" thank you for the kind kudos, I posted more specific guidance in my response to patriot. I've passed on the kudos to the team who worked hard on scale improvements.

@"bmoline" out of curiosity what happens when you take that JSESSIONID and pass it in as a header to the subsequent GET request?
-
This is already possible via the Send a GET or POST request to the web server. The screenshot below of configuring this alert action is taken from 2020.2 which is GA today. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/SAM-Documents/Server-amp-Application-Monitor-SAM-2020-2-is-Now-Generally/ta-p/593800

@"roga" sorry for the delay on response to your question on unmanage behaviors, we haven't added maintenance support for muting or managing in this release but the request is tracked under SAM-11705
