The Website performance is directly related to the Disk Performance of the Database. Have you added a lot of extra resources to the Website? Do you have a lot of users with no Website Timeout configured, or a lot of concurrent users on the Website? What is the RAID Array configured on the SAN, and if there are any other…

Orion reports the numbers found when it queries the SNMP agent on a device. Discarded traffic, whether it is intentional or not, is recorded by the following MIBS: ifInDiscard, ifOutDiscard, ifInErrors, ifOutErrors. Since these MIBs are Counters that Increment, our application will take an Initial poll and record this…

Rediscovery picks the vendor information up and refreshes every 30 minutes. Do you have any other same Cisco model devices reporting HP other than this…

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object" Error usually occurs in the Universal Device Poller if the poller had an issue being added. I would recommend opening a Support Case to see what is exactly causing the issue. You may need to remove and readd either the Custom Poller or the Device to clear the error.

The Jet Files should be from the Syslog and Trap Services. When the logs come in, they are stored in the Temp Directory with the .tmp extension until written to the database. Turn off the Syslog & Trap service and see if the number of tmp files stop.

Most SAN Systems are pretty limited when it comes to SNMP and LUN information. Storage Manager is designed to use a SMI-S Provider to gather this information. The Polling Engine and the Orion Server need to be on the same version. This is more than likely the reason for this Error. You will need to get your Additional Poller to Orion 10.0 and the same Service Pack level to ensure that the Pollers can talk correctly to each other. If after you upgrade that you still have this…
