  • Hi Jiri Cvachovec Thanks for getting back to me, I have not yet found a resolution to this. Update --- I found a solution now, I need to change the Object Type's from (default) to what I want manually on each device under Views by Device Type. Not ideal but workable for now.
  • Hi rob.hock We loaded NPM RC3, should we consider installing GA or is GA the same release as RC3?
  • Interested in the Cost section. According to this blog, there is no limit on agents that could be installed on servers? It will roll back to the license, so if one owns an unlimited license one should be able to deploy an unlimited amount of agents (In Theory) without additional licenses? According to NPM v 11 though, one…
  • I would also like a Micro Poller. Perhaps the ability to branch out from an APE, the limitation would be the APE capabilities even if 100 Micro Pollers was used then 100 - 120 elements would be monitor able per micro poller per APE. Would be nice if these micro pollers could be installed with existing APE licenses though.…
  • I also like the idea, I would like it if one could poll different IP's with different polling engines. On the Vital Stats page see multiple charts for each polled ip.
  • I like the Connection Details you have there, is this part of 10.7 or did you do some customization?
  • Hi After installing NCM 7.3, all the users by default navigates to the Configs Tab and not to Summary Tab on Left Navigation. Not sure how to correct this?
  • Nice Blog It does explain alot. Is there a document like this in a PDF format somewhere on the website. Is there perhaps an updated version of this?
  • I agree, this one have been a pain for a while. We have problems with our Custom Pollers where server rooms overheat without knowing the sensors SNMP stopped working. Cant wait to migrate to version 10.6 to test
  • Very Cool, cant wait to install. Already posted a feature request for the next version web tools, http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3990.
  • Out of interest, how will this work with nodes that is polled with different APE's?
  • fitzy141 I Completely agree with you, we are in the same situation of owning both those licenses. I feel QOE should have been part of the next release of NTA to be honest and also based on the existing license.
  • I would also like the ability to customize users using UDT. For instance, I want some users to be able to shutdown and no shutdown on switch ports. Other users should only be able to do no shutdown on switch ports.
  • The Server is physical and it only runs SolarwindsOrion Database Instance. We also run the Solarwinds Netflow DB tool on this server. Server Specifications is as follows. 2x 4 Core 3.3 GHz CPU (we switched of Hyper Threading to test possible performance issue) 8x SSD HDD in a RAID 10 split into multiple partitions for…
  • Hi aLTeReGo Changed it this morning, but the results remains the same though.
  • Thanks Rob Same as stickman we cannot introduce NPM 10.7 RC into our environment either. I did log a ticket : 575444 Awaiting results
  • Hi ashkan.hf That was my understanding from the sales people when we originally procured the product. I currently run my Orion system without the licenses, I have renewed but have yet to find the time just to add the new license. That being said, it is still running as it should. Not sure if it applies to all, It does…
  • Thanks Cahunt I logged the case with support and eventually got my answer. It was a problem in the way NPM 10.5 handled Multicast Monitoring, it filled up MSMQ and essentially blocked information from being passed into the DB. I had to disable my Multicast monitoring to get the problem solved, I could immediately see the…
  • Thanks HolyGuacamole This is a very manual way which is ok, would have been nice though if one could globally enable all interfaces to do baseline calculations and on alerting filter it out for trunk ports as an example. Nevertheless this would have to do for now thanks.
  • Hi Would be cool to integrate into Solarwinds, specifically looking at the What We're working on pagep ost 10.7. "Wireless Heatmaps - view observed and calculated signal strength and client location" Anyways, I am based in South Africa.
  • Hi Thanks for your responce. The maps is only built in Network Atlas with no background. The Icons is imported from Visio but linked to the objects. How would I go about doing option 2? I cant see anywhere where I could specify the Width of Maps in Network Atlas or will this be in Orion Web Interface Admin?
  • Hi Vinay BY Thanks for the info, I did enable that thanks. I think my DB server is not well I cant even RDP to it anymore to see what the heck is going on. I will try to start stopping all the DBA's jobs and test if the re indexing works then thanks.
  • Thanks aLTeReGo That is what I thought as well initially, but they are both x64 platform. Screenshot's below. So I am wondering why it would report 4GB RAM usage for the process.
  • Hi ashkan.hf You wont be able to get support nor updates but I do believe the product will remain working. If you renew the product within 6 months you only pay 20% of the original cost value of the product. If you want to renew it in a years time you will have to pay the full product price again. Well, that's my…
  • Thanks for the Reply. Polling Engines and core have 16GB of RAM. SQL box have 64GB of RAM. Poll Now does not even get the data into the DB for custom pollers, all other data is quick like bandwidth etc.
  • Hi patriot and rob.hock I know this post is a bit old but I have a questions. We have 10 000 + interfaces monitored, do we have to go enable baseline thresholds on each one of them or is there a way to globally enable it on all interfaces. I would have loved to only check this on trunk ports but in Alert Manager I do not…
  • I would also love this feature, we are in a unique situation. Most of our non Enterprise networks (Manufacturing Networks) sits behind Firewalls. We have about 60 Cisco ASA Firewalls each with at least 2 routable subnets and using UDT we cannot retreive the IP's duo to the ASA's SNMP limitations due to security risk etc.…
  • Hi Blackvirus Which modules did you install? NPM can tell you how much bandwidth consumption you have going on the NIC of the Web Server. You will need to enable SNMP on the server and allow the SW Server IP to poll for SNMP. Without SNMP you might simply see an ICMP echo which will only tell you if the node is up or down.…
  • Hi Rob I like this idea. We currently have 10 Campus Networks with each separated into about 10 - 20 sites. There is another bunch of smaller remote sites also. I work for a mining company and a lot of our systems is separated with Private VLAN's from the Enterprise network to protect systems that could cause potential…
  • I just moved this post to a different forum in hopes of a response
