For those who want to use passthrough AD authentication on Windows Server 2008/IIS7, you need to make sure when you install IIS, you include the role service "Windows Authentication" which is in the "security" section. After you have this installed, you can disable "Anonymous Authentication" and enable "Windows…

Yes. When compared to Cisco WCS, the lag time seems excessive.

I have also experienced this as well. I am running on Server 2008 64 bit & SQL 2005. I have to reboot the server before polling will work again after many devices stop responding. I have not opened a ticket yet. :|
-
I wish my upgrade went smooth, but it didn't. My previous polling engine machine was unstable after going from 8.x to 9.x. Support recommended that I set up a new polling engine machine a while back, but I had to after the upgrade to 9.5 which gave me a LOT of errors regarding legacy pollers not supported on the main page.…

It would be great if specifying multiple SMTP servers is possible. I have redundant routes for some servers so this would help me out for sure.

My upgrade went just fine. Being able to combine multiple interfaces on one chart is nice, but that feature needs to be able to have both TX/RX on the same chart or group them together as a combined bandwidth usage. I also am still looking for a "virtual object" that can be assigned SNMP "location" so that I can represent…

I use Orion to monitor my Cisco wireless controllers and my standalone AP's along with WCS. I give more people access to Orion than I do WCS. The interface for WCS is not really for helpdesk & level two support, and I find that Orion is at least a starting point for most.

It would be really nice to provide a similar dashboard that the Cisco Wireless Controller Management software has.

The interface monitor gadget in workspace studio in the Engineers toolkit has the same issue. I see spikes on my 1GB link of 5GB, so I know it's not valid.
-
I would also find the NBAR support highly valuable.

Count me in too. I've had enough of my VM Team's complaining already. :)
-
I was thinking today it would be nice to have the way to search by Cisco interface descriptions. It would make it easier to find things for those who do not necessarily know which device a given "service" is located. :)
-
Rediscover seems to take care of it within a few minutes. It would be nice to have the Thin AP update or client count updates be a configurable item for wireless controllers and perhaps access points.

I ran into this with the latest software and needed to adjust my connection strings per the article below. https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/Knowledgebase_Articles/Unable_to_open_new_database_connection Also, if you are using SQL Multi-subnet failover, you will need to add:…

I have also requested this, but to sum multiple interfaces across multiple devices to create a "logical" object to represent different types of traffic or sum of multiple UDP collectors such as "total VPN connections" across multiple devices.

I agree with this suggestion as I often run into situations where a BGP or EIGRP peer is offline and an alternate path is being used. This is fine until both paths are down and nothing works.

Same problem here, not running VSS. Running: Cisco IOS Software, s72033_rp Software (s72033_rp-ADVENTERPRISEK9_WAN-M), Version 12.2(33)SXH2a, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2) I can't see updating my software on my switches just to fix this problem. It was working fine before updating the same as Steve.
