  • Is this still being "worked on"? This would be very useful for daily maintenances.
  • This apparently hasn't been addressed yet, so I'll add my two cents. Along with all the monitoring capability we utilize SolarWinds for, we use it for asset and configuration management. I would like to be able to give my configuration management team the ability to add or modify the custom properties of a node, without…
  • I asked my SolarWinds contact and he gave me the old location, he didn't know it was gone either. I had a secondary SolarWinds server, different name, IP, different database, etc. I am going to be dual monitoring, same devices, but to different databases. I wanted a more efficient way to take the views I created on the one…
  • Working on a new report today to monitor SQL jobs, created it in the web console and then tried to add it to a custom list of reports and....remembered we still can't see it there. I heard the report writer was supposed to "go away" eventually.... I still use the report writer most of the time simply because it allows me a…
  • I use WMI and I have to check the resources on a regular basis. I have clustered servers that fail back and forth between hosts and whenever that happens the drives/mounts/volumes go unknown on that host and become ghost drives.
  • Sorry we did away with all of our AIX servers, flipped everything to Linux.
  • Yes, this ability would be very useful, just built a new server and rather than manually creating all of the views I have on my other server, being able to export them would be so much more efficient.
  • I actually already had Windows Server 2003-2012 Services and Counters assigned to the server. I tested that monitor, which was working and now it also fails since changing the collection method to agent. I get the following error: "Message from webpage" Error: Unable to communicate with agent JobEngine on endpoint…
  • All plugins are installed, agent is running and connection status is "connected".
  • I had to do some editing, I'll see how it looks if I put it in the window.
  • So are you saying I can't use a single evaluation license for the SRM Profiler and the SRM module , or I can't integrate with an evaluation license? When I try to use the profiler web console directly it still displays the expired date of the previous license and of course won't let me do anything with it. You're saying I…
  • Information collected by plug-ins depend on the type of plug-in installed on the agent. For example, the Quality of Experience plug-in collects packet traffic, while a SAM plug-in collects application data that are used to monitor the applications. Agents automatically download the plug-ins for all installed products. So I…
  • They were all added with discovery. I believe the problem stems from how the Windows team is managing the VM environment and how SW is handling it. There are only a handful of servers which I've noticed aren't displaying the correct name and IP. The servers are displayed correctly if I look at the list of nodes, it's only…
  • I did forget to change the polling method, but when I changed it to poll via the agent I get a different error. "Unable to schedule job on agent node 288 - required APM plugin is missing or not installed properly". The agent status says it's running and connected.
  • I actually found it in Alert.History, it's called accountID, not acknowledgeby.
  • I deleted the virtual server which displayed when I hovered over the server in the "list of virtual machines". I added it back in and it's now displaying as itself and not showing up as a duplicated server. I would like to prevent this from happening in the future, obviously deleting a node out of SW is not a good fix as I…
  • I need the functionality that the Storage Profiler (storage main console) gives me and want the capability to manage it in the web console. The SRM Orion Module does not support all the products we monitor, so I have to also load the SRM Profiler Module. When I install both products, I can view the Storage Main Console…
  • Actually the AIX admin had to do a bit more than that on his side, but once he had the SNMP configured on the server, all I had to do was insert the SNMP credential when I added the node. We use SHA1 and DES56 with SNMPv3.
  • This is one of the scripts, super basic, not doing a whole lot. * If multiple files found set the statistic drastically high as there is definitely a problem. * If one file found, display the name and file size in MB as the statistic. * If no file is found set statistic to 0 Argument: c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbspersist_*.log…
  • To update my progress on getting the PIV authentication functioning with AD accounts. I upgraded NPM from v12.0 to v 12.0.1, but realized part of the issue I'm having is to do the complexity of the trusted zones my network is configured with. My workstation sits in one zone, the SW server is in another, the credentials are…
  • They're different mac addresses.
  • The idea is to evenly distribute the elements between the two engines to reduce the burden. We're not close to the count limitation on the engine, which is why I am concerned with possible resource contention. We had issues in the past with polling and we added more cpu/memory and it resolved the issue. I thought I read to…
  • So I installed the agent on a server that was working with the monitor set up to execute in remote mode. I annotated the results of the script, then I changed it to execute local and ran the test again. The results were not the same as when I executed it remotely. ???
  • I know this is an old post, but I actually took your script and modified it slightly to pull the historical alert data. Do you know if the acknowledgedby information is stored anywhere? I wanted to include that in the report, but I've only found it for the active alerts. thanks, Jan
  • I have a ticket open right now and the tech is proving to be less than useful, not sure he has any idea what he's talking about based on the responses I'm getting from him. I expect the people they assign to these tickets to be at least as knowledgeable as me. It seems as though if something isn't an "out of the box"…
  • After digging through the debugging logs we found the SW server would refer to a self-signed certificate instead of the government issued CA certificate. We're not sure how to force it to use the appropriate certificate, we haven't found the code where SW is doing the selection. Of course since the self-signed cert isn't…
  • Further investigation reveals the standalone Storage Manager now gives me the option to reclaim the SRM Orion Module license. This makes me think I can't have both. If I reclaim the license, then it will no longer pull the information within the web console. It seems at that point I am no longer integrated and sharing a…
  • We're monitoring our AIX, let me know if you need additional info, I made my AIX guy write it down!
  • The problem is that the generic event that SolarWinds posts creates a lot of clutter in the events and if I have an alert created I end up getting three or four posts per event multiple that times the number of servers the event is occurring on. Due to the quantity of application monitors I have, I can easily have 50+…
  • The agent for the QOE dashboard?
