This seems to show all templates regardless if they are applied are not. Is there an easy way to filter to just a certain application or applications?

Whats weird is I’ve tested solarwinds I think NPM 12.0 or .1 successfully on RDS like mid last year, so I’m not sure what the deal is with this new “feature”
-
Right, based on what I've read, you only need license for the core product, SAM/NPM etc, and even only one liecese for an APE, the HA takes care of the transfer of the license. The servers, that's up to you.
-
Oh I'm totally with you harrijs! Its not readily obvious that its a separately licensed product! And the wording on that link makes it sounds like it's included which would be totally awesome, but its not. The only way you can tell really is if you look at the pricing sheet: SolarWinds - Price List
-
Right, and in that case you would need 4 servers total.
-
You would need 1 NPM/SAM or whichever Core product you're licensing for. You would need 1 HA license You would need two Servers Run the Installer for the core product on your main poller on your primary server Run the HA installer for the core product on your secondary server
-
As I understand it you need one HA license per pool. Where a pool can be a pair of Main Pollers or Additional polling engines. You only need 1 license for the main poller or additional poller. You don’t need 2 additional polling engine licenses for 1 HA pool.

Interesting, I've already got Solarwinds operating on AWS RDS with SQL server express.... Does this add something additional?

We're wondering the same thing. Trying to receive snmp informs from Arcsight as we were having trouble with snmp traps. Anyone from solarwinds?
-
I can't imagine I'm the only one that has seen this...?
-
I completely agree with you! Sounds like you need to submit a feature request.
-
I hate the wording of these settings. This is what I've done with all my alerts: I set the "Evaluation Frequency" to match the polling of the object I want to alert on. So as an example if I'm polling node statistics every 3 minutes, there is absolutely no point in setting this value to anything less than 3 minutes -…

"We're doing some research around improving Orion's syslog and SNMP trap capabilities." Does this mean things like trap integration with advaned alerts!? please, please, please say yes!!!!

Procedure from solarwinds to fix solarwinds.dataprocessor.exe: -Stop Orion Services using Orion Service Manager -Access Services.msc and search for Message Queuing service -Stop Message Queuing Service -Access C:\Windows\System32\msmq\Storage -Delete files with .MQ extension -Start Message Queuing Service -Start Orion…

I haven't restarted anything because the polling rate is still at 100% and everything is working normally but checking periodically throughout the night the memory utilization never went below 90%. Haven't restarted anything yet because I want solarwinds to actually see whats going on.
-
Submitted a solarwinds case, will report back here with their findings.

I was able to achieve this not by using the icon settings in the table column settings but by grabbing whatever "statusled" is and building that into the location on the server and inserting that into an html image tag in the SQL used for the table. Then you simply turn on "Allow HTML tags" for the column. Works like a…

By default the agent runs under the system context when you install the agent manually or deployed from orion. What I found is if you want to change this behavior and run the agent as a different user you'll need to use a user in the local administrators group. This will let you start the service without any problems.

This would be a serviceNOW issue. I know when we pass short name it resolves despited the FQDN only being in the CMDB. But our engineering team handles issues on the SN side... sorry I couldnt be of any help Curious though... how did you get "type" as an available property? I don't see that in our configuration:

Support has so far been useless. They pointed me to a video of which I've already watched despite me specifically saying I've watched all the tutorials and read all the documentation in the admin guide. I can't possibly be the only one trying to do this right thwackers?!
-
I'll submit a ticket I guess....
-
I think I found a different way to do it, basically what I was after was the alerthistoryview through SWQL but that view is not exposed through SWQL so what I ended up doing was using SQL management studio, taking a peek at the design of the AlertHistoryView and grabbing the query out of that and modifying for my needs…
-
jkrenzien is correct. Basically any tab you have up there is a separately purchased module with separate license requirements.
-
This is an old thread, but we are seeing the same issue but in the latest SAM, 6.4.0
-
Actually, nevermind!! This DOES work, turns out I had an HTML error that was keeping the SQL variables from working! woohoo!
-
Im not sure of the sysobjectid because while were polling it with v3 credentials, the sysobjectid is not populated...? But this is an IBM Integrated Management Module on an IBM System x3650 M4 BD Server

I'm having the same difficulty understanding this chart. We have a port channel interface on a cisco switch that has been collecting interface statistics data well, since we've monitored it really, yet that dang "interface downtime" chart shows the interface status as Unknown! It doesn't make any sense.
-
Im having the same problem but with Node custom properties. Not sure whats going on. We're on 12.0.1, which one are you on?
-
I would try deleting the nodes from NPM and rediscovering them. Unfortunately solarwinds seems to have a lot of animosity towards anything related traps and tends to not offer much in the way of support even though traps are still widely used by a crap ton of vendors and continue to be so. (just look at the trap viewer…

Nevermind, literally just answered my own question at the servicenow store: https://store.servicenow.com/$appstore.do#!/store/application/28d51d460f129a006d9cb17ce1050e6c/1.0.1?referer=$appstore.d… For some reason I didnt even think to look there!
