I'm curious as well as I'm also getting 0 minutes in my reports too. Was a working solution ever found? I'm using 10.1.2. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! We are running 786 nodes and 1232 interfaces. SQL is not on the same box. For some reason I thought that AWE/PAE was only for SQL servers but we are in the process of enabling PAE to see what impact that has on the speed of the webpages. I'm still having a problem with the Syslog service pegging…

Chris, Thanks for the response. Will the new licensing system be incorporated into the Orion product line and modules with the next release of Orion? I presume that is where your heading, just curious. I definately like the idea of prepending the computer name on the license file names and I would suggest adding what the…

Thanks Andy, Ticket 93651 submitted. Robert

Hey Mark, Thanks for the reply. I hadn't tried replacing the SDFs so I tried it and I noticed that the Job Engine folder didn't have a Data directory. I was hopeful this was the problem so uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now I have the Data folder but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. It probably fixed…

Thanks for the info Byron, please reply back if Craig provides you with anymore feedback on this. I'd be interested to know how we can track component failures.

Ok, this is a pretty major feature that didn't port over from MapMaker to Network Atlas. Can you give me a general idea of when we should expect this to be resolved? As far as the copy and paste. I have a map that was imported during the upgrade to 9.5 and fortunately the box is still where it needs to be, however, I can't…

Rob, I just downloaded the SAMLocalHelp.zip and I don't see a ReadMe in there explaining how to install it. Is it possible to integrate these files into one helpfile that can be used for installations that have both NPM and SAM installed on the same server? Thanks for your assistance, Robert
-
Absolutely, this will probably work better than my suggestion. I would recommend piping that command to an include statement to narrow the output: Hostname#show snmp mib ifmib ifindex | i 127 For a non-cisco device though the Mib Browser is probably the best bet. Robert

Thanks Michael. Do you think you can also get the local help in the portal as well?
-
Hey JP, Unfortunately no because I can already alert on those. We have a lot of nodes and interfaces come up missing from time to time and would like to alert when this happens. Rob

Hey Chris, We have a requirement from our Information Assurance branch that our syslog server not accept syslog messages from any unmanaged devices. My understanding is that is not the way it works now but that is on the roadmap. Can you confirm that is still the case and advise what type of priority this has in your…

Brandon, I got that you download and run those packages. Is there anything additional that needs to be done? Freemen asked the following: For the Additional Polling Engines I see on page 137 of the NPM Admin Guide that I must copy six files from the Orion directory to each additional poller in order to port the custom…

BXIV, I'm not real web savvy but I am interested in how you did this. My idea would be to create a separate report folder on the server, drop the report in there and give the individual access to only that report.. Robert

Thanks for the info Jan.

Netlogix, Thanks for your reply. I'm migrating NPM, NCM, APM, IPSLA, Netflow and Toolset over to our DR site. We have a completely different IP and Hostname at our DR site. I'm going to look at FoE but for now I'm doing it manually so I wanted to make sure that I got everything covered. I'm going to look in the other Admin…

Doc, I found in then NCM Administrator Guide additional items that I'll need to move but I didn't see anthing about the Orion NCM integration component. Please advise when it is necessary to use the procedures in the Orion NPM Migration Technical Reference and please clarify more in the document so it's clear. Thanks!…

Steve- Thanks for the feedback. I'll give it a try and see how it works. It appears to me that these labs are generally rolled into the product at some point. Any idea when these will be available in the base install? It would be great if in the future, that labs could be developed as executables so it would be easier to…

Mav, I'm interested in talking with you about the direction you are going with this as well. If you don't have my contact info, please let me know. Thanks! Robert

Matt, How were you able to test this with the SDK? I'm unable to connect to the EOC server with v1.9 of the SDK installed on my EOC v1.5 server. I keep getting unable to connect to Information Service. The server has rejected the client credentials. Robert

I found a problem in the version checker software that it's not reporting my versions correctly. When I ran it, I received the below results. It would be great if you could also report Network Atlas versions in the version checker as well as the website and provide a direct download for the latest versions of this…

Francois, Yes, apparently an eval version was posted to my portal a while back and I installed it. I have removed SQL 2005 and downloaded a non-eval version. Things seem to be working fine now. Thanks! Robert

Do you have a ticket opened with SolarWinds on this? We've been having the problem where EOC will indicate an issue in the Banner but for the most part the EOC server polls the Orion server.
-
Andy, I'd like to say that you've been a welcome addition to the Thwack team. Your presence on the Forum is certainly noticed and much appreciated. Would it be possible to post this internal KB to the knowledge base so we can have access to it without contacting support? I'm dealing with an issue where I can't install…

Thanks byrona. That's what I thought but I just wanted to confirm.
-
Thanks Steve and Mav, that definately clears up the immediate issue but the question remains, how are folks supposed to know what patches and Hotfixes are current for the product version they are using? Is there a matrix or webpage out there that has this? If not, I think it would be helpful to develop this so folks can…

I agree. I would like to see this functionality included in a future release too. Robert

Jeff, Are you running a 32 or 64 bit version of Orion and what modules are you running? Interestingly enough, we are running a 32 bit version of Orion on an HP DL 585 with 16 GB of RAM with PAE active and are only seeing around 4 GB utilized. While we don't have all the modules completely configured, I'd also recommend…
