I experimented with the reports, and it seems that I only have this message when I add a Report grouping to the report. When I remove the grouping the report shows up well.

After upgrading our SQL 2005 server to SP3 the memory consumption is much more stable. We don't see the continious increase anymore. Thanks to the support people (Kevin Twomey)

Hashim, I also received this error and non of the sugested solutions worked. Eventually I just rebooted the server and logged on to the console of the system. After the reboot I was able to perform the upgrade. Hope this helps for you as well. Rudy Slegers

I Opened a trouble ticket and found the issue. I'm using custom properties that I'm using in my alert trigger. One of the values in the drop down box for a custom property was changed. Because the value did not excist anymore it returned NULL which causes the Alerting engine to crash.
