Mine was T/F last week. Thwack-goblins?

Having this functionality returned would be convenient, but I've learned to use Chrome and save the view to PDF. so I'm not unable to share reports. I'm OK having the button, or not having it. But only as long as compatible web browsers allow printing to PDF. Perhaps one day soon my InfoSec team would say "No Chrome…

Just like how Youtube was commercial-free for years. Nowadays I am forced to sit through multiple commercials during a video, plus having to endure a commercial before I can even begin watching the video.

First Red X. Unhappiness. Not a fan of this product as result. Ha!

I feel like I have some advantage for having used NetPath since the early beta deployment last summer, and I got the question right without having read all the comments here. Granted, the screen initially shown has no data in it, no red. That's not how I expect my NetPath to show up--mine is set to show current time, not…

I've gotten a bit out of my realm of familiarity here. What specific module/product/version is providing this "NCM-like" information about Windows Registry changes?

Have you considered simply using Windows Active Directory Groups instead of local NPM accounts? That way users DO get to change their own passwords, and you can govern their rights by groups or by individual user pretty easily. Much more easily than with local NPM accounts.

I don't know what a Perfsack is, but it doesn't sound good.

If only we could beam this into all users' heads . . . to get them to understand WHY what they are doing (or what they WANT to do) is inappropriate. It would be nice it they trusted us to secure them, despite the fact that our work may inconvenience them. THEN we need all the app writers, hardware developers, cloud folks,…

Provided the pets are mature enough to not destroy the house when you're not paying them attention, and well-trained enough to "do their business" in the appropriate places, or at least give you enough warning to put them on a rope, let them outside, or give them access to the litter box--before making a mess, all is well.…

I, too, have this desire/need.

Makes me wonder about the current status of IP SLA Monitor. Is it still out there, or was it replaced by QOE?

Click the UP arrow to vote for this, please!

It's a reflection of our endless exposure to all things Internet, and the tangents that come from habitual surfing. Or . . . maybe having to track too many tasks & notes?

I just stumbled across this Apple i-Phone review over the weekend, and yes, they know some folks are clowns. For $1,000.00 . . . ? What a shame! https://www.cnet.com/news/apple-iphone-x-drop-test/

I can see some benefit from a simple ten-minute delay in alerts about a node being down, given most of those alerts in my environment are the result of a brief power hit at some intermediate WAN site out of our control. My team's SOP has morphed into waiting ten minutes before sounding an alarm to the Help Desk or…

Checklists failing to improve outcomes in some hospitals--the article is a sad example where checklists do NOT fail, but people fail to use the checklists. Human failure shouldn't be mistaken for a tool like a check list failing. Where humans fail, training and testing and training and testing must take place until humans…

And don't forget about the Tall Ships! And the winter skiing can be pretty fun here, too:

If I may humbly suggest a title change for this topic, would you mind including "Palo Alto"? Example: SOLARWINDS NAT LOOKUP: BREAK THROUGH THE Palo Alto FIREWALL BARRIER Or some similar/equivalent? It's easy to find this link when searching Thwack and believe there could be something new for any brand of firewall, not only…

Poor Baltimore, and any other organizations that don't keep their systems updated and employees well-trained. It's challenging to live in a structure depending on public funding. Particularly when the public seems to pay most attention to candidates who shout "Vote for me and I'll reduce taxes!". The corollary is "You…

Ctrl-F did NOT work in IE, but DOES work in Chrome. What's up with that?

It sounds like you might benefit from having two NAM licenses, just for the 100,000 elements and 20 APE's that come with each NAM license. That way you should have enough resources & licenses to monitor/manage all physical ports. In my environment, I no longer regard having the ability to monitor & manage all ports as a…

Although I love the idea of getting bacon right out of thin air, more food--even at very-reduced costs--isn't the answer I look toward for correcting and preventing world hunger. The immediate answer is altruism. The long-term solution is fewer people--at least until we have a quantum breakthrough in FTL travel and energy…

Marriott? You have a great Business Triangle going there. I like it, and I pick security and privacy over convenience every time. When it becomes TOO inconvenient, I do without. And then I remember I was perfectly happy before that "convenience" was present.

If you're not using Orion yet, and if you get a chance, download a trial version of NPM and NCM and install them so you can compare functionality. I grew up on MRTG, then HP OpenView, then Nortel Enterprise Switch Manager, and finally the SW Orion suite. This one does it all for me, and has many great modules to add on for…

The article about Industry Secrets is excellent!

I'm in favor of quantum computing! (Safe, reliable, affordable quantum computing, that is.)

"Serverless applications"? What next? Thoughtful and compassionate politicians? Military "intelligence"? Screen doors on submarines? I've not seen cloud virtues yet, but no matter what amazing services (and vulnerabilities) the cloud may offer, working without servers isn't one of them. Tell me more about serverless apps,…
