  • How do I setup logging from Engineer Edition Toolset? Thanks, RP
  • Is there a way to import maps from lets say Openview or any other apps. We have Visionelle, Visio, and HP NNM maps. We have a couple other maps available, but the above mentioned are the most complete maps. Thanks in advance. Thanks, RP
  • Javier, Forgive my ignorance on this topic. How is making 'Network Monitor' a service beneficial? Are you simply wanting it to start automatically when you reboot? Just curious. Thanks, RP
  • Another option that you might consider would be to go Out-of-Band. This not only gives you better security (and not having to taverse fire walls....pending layout), it allows you to manage the network without impacting bandwidth. It's a pain getting everything wired and configured, but once it is done, you can manage the…
  • How do I apply those scripts? Do I need to place them in an in-particular container? Thanks, RP
  • I know that others will probably have a better answer than mine. But a shot in the dark could be clearing your arp / cam. Thanks, RP
  • NG, The outage escalation sounds like something that a lot of us could use. I have someone here that works wonders when it comes to scripting. In the event that we can get the alert delay to work, I will be sure to get you the information. Thanks, RP
  • NG, I noticed that you recommended moving the polling cycle to every 5 minutes. Are you suggesting that the alert only goes off after the second notice. I was contemplating a way to set this alert. I was trying to think of a way to script the alert of send only after the second poll of that utilization. Any suggestions?…
  • In order to effectively manage a network You need to be able to customize the MIB's. Currently I have to use the Polling cycle to send an alert regarding my Cisco Router for % over 5 minute time span. There is already a MIB value to alert on that comes with the Cisco IOS for 5 minute interval. Thanks, RP
  • However, you do need a maintenance contract in order to download this program from the Beta section. Thanks, RP
  • What version of Switch Port Mapper are you running? The older versions only used one VLAN when it performed its search. The 7.0 version of SPM is able to span all VLAN's. I think you may be spannig only VLAN1. Hope this helps. If you have maintenance, you can download the pre-release of 7.0. Thanks, RP
  • Very interesting Rog. We monitor tempurature to the rooms via UPS traps with HPOV. I have just installed Orion 7, and we are impressed with the features we have seen. I use HPOV now, and would like to migrate to Orion. If there is anyone that has some templates that I could use for better management. I would appreciate it.…
