Looks to me that it may have been a report that has been embedded.

That's absolutely superb news. So many devs are building sites just for Chrome and it has been really frustrating. I can't to check out the the new WPM. Thank you

Wow. This is very close to what I need. I've used your query to construct a report and my test environment runs to over 70 pages; I've yet to run it on the live system. No-wonder I felt like I was drowning in information. It needs the rest of the properties, but is a great start & just ready to drop into an XLS. Thank you.…

It was explained to me one as - If you wanrted to gauge the height of a class, you could add all the heights and divide by the number of people. It would give a true average, but would be un-representative of the reality, because you included the 6ft teacher with the 3ft children. The 95% percentile would take out the top…

With vMan migrated from the appliance into Orion, the SQL table Vim_Hosts now exposes all of this information. if you export the table and check the sum of CpuPackageCount where PollingSource=2 you'll see the hosts that are being monitored by VIM and which count towards your Virtualisation Manager licence tier. The…

Congrats to you too.

I'm still worried about pinging children around the ear. They call it abuse in the UK.

We've also added 2 custom property fields to identify the percentage full that constitues warning or critical levels. We populate them with defaults, but then adjust the custom property so that we can specify different criteria per volume.

That's great news Michael. I end up with documents with edited filenames or scribled notes on the front of hard copies. This will make is so much more obvious. Thanks again. Robert

There's an UnManaged column in the interfaces table too.

Hi David, I'm running Orion 2017.3 with NPM12.2 (& other modules) & have updated the Settings > Web Console Settings to an F5 alias, but the alerts still return the MPE name when the ${NodeDetailsURL} variable is called. Does this GUI method now work or should I revert to the database hack, Thanks, Robert

I had slow web responses, but they improved when I removed the external link to Thwack. They improved again when I stacked sub-maps under maps and made the top level map much simpler. I try to get around 20 elements on a map now, even if they then call maps with more detail.

Hi guys, I get the System.ApplicationException: Field not specified or invalid at SolarWinds.Orion.Web.Reporting.C1QueryWrapper.BuildSQL() at SolarWinds.Orion.Web.Reporting.OrionReport.BuildQuery(String orderBy, String grouping, String filter) at SolarWinds.Orion.Web.Reporting.ReportRunner.WorkerProc() error too. I RDP’d…

I've got 5 engines, a aux web site & am just loading a HotStandby & each upgrade involves taking the entire complex down. We operate 24x7x364 so it does hurt. I use a twin screen PC & open a whole load of Remote Desktops on one screen sizing them to fit, position the Orion Services manager in a visible portion of each TS…

just run the exe & the changes all happen as part of the install. The only issue is time, but if you've got a big window to do the upgrade in, then don't worry.

Hi, it was a long time ago, but I think it was a support call. Raise a ticket & give them as much info as possible & they'll either mail you or call you as soon as they can. You might want to prepare a DIAG file (which collects all of your configurations together for them to analyse better). RDP to your engine & find the…

Hi, I upgraded a multi server installation from NPMv9.5.1 to 10SP1 and it took ages to upgrade the database as there are SQL schema changes & our database is very large. Also, the next time that the scheduled SQL houskeeping started, it found many orphaned entries and again it took ages to complete. But the responsiveness…

Branded masks, what a cool idea. Now that really would put SW "In your face"
-
Hi, Many thanks. I tried this, but I really need these few lines of text to be on the home page, and not only accessible via another tab, as this environmental monitoring section is to be part of our main NOC status page and presented on a large wall screen.

Hi guys, We also have the same issue with conflicting results from the radial dial (CPU & Memory Utilization) v Physical & Virtual (Volume Utilization) . It seems that the simplest way to remove the incorrect radial dial erroneos value is to unmanage this as suggested above, but this is tied to the CPU tracking. So if we…

if you are changing IP addesses during the transition, you could "unmanage" the old router when adding the new router (even if it's actually the same device). That way you could keep history of both the old unmanaged circuit together with the new one. You may want to do some "Filter Nodes" on your main live screens so that…

Yes, normal add/remove

Thanks Stuart, Thought that I was missing something really obvious for a moment! Idea logged as http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/2719 Robert

Hi, That's exactly what I was hoping for. Many thanks for the info.

Hi Rick, I try to seriously restrict the information I put on a view. Big blobs as summaries and then when a problem occurs hit the blob, see the country or the datacentre, or the rack or the node & all the info will be in the node or in its interface page. even location info such as "Turn right out of the station and…
-
Go it. This is what I found on NPMv12 Take all of the nodes that need to be forgotten in the Scheduled Discovery Results tab, mark them and do an Add To Ignore List. Now they are not in the Results list and only in the Ignore list RDP to the primary engine, run the Database Manager, and one by one locate the tables…

The figures in your alerts are set as variables. Which variables are chosen for the email can totally change the meaning of it. I had a similar problem and had to correct the text around the variable. Remember that averages are over a period of time, while specifics are spot values and are “right now values”. Notice how my…

Our responsiveness degraded as we loaded up the system, but has dramatically improved following a number of changes. We're now running >20k elements and >5k APM component tests across 7 VM engines over 3 sites. Our SQL was migrated to a separate physical server, it was moved from 32 bit to 64 bit, it was given its own…

There's no automatic licence transfer from FoE to HA. You have to speak to your reseller & ask them to make the transfer. However FoE is going away & HA is here to stay; support for FoE will tail off There's a great doc at SolarWinds Orion 2016.2 feature: High Availability - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

Ahhh Yes, Of course it is. I remember now. Many thanks, Robert And there's loads more info in the thread Re: Orion Upgrade Buddy?
