Say we use all ports from 1024 to 65225. On different hosts they are different applications. Does the NTA display the port numbers individually or grouped with all other unknown ports?

We need trending at a better sample rate. The real time toolset is good when looking at it but not for all of our interfaces. There is a huge difference between a 1 minute sample and 10 second samples.

 The processor/memory utilizations are low. Other lower bandwidth interfaces are not showing this problem on the same device.

Our requirements are at least 1 minute for interface statistics and would really want more granular than 1 minute if available. a 5 minute average does not show nearly the bandwidth peaks in a bursty traffic environment. How would that work for thousands of customized traps? We have NOC's around the world that this would need to be applied on. Currently we use another SNMP system for trap management and node up/down notification that works well but for Windows only. Our other NOC's do not run Windows environments so this is a problem.

Separate SQL server it is not on either box. I saw it created on the SQL server when it was doign the backup but now it is gone.

We tried that and it gives the same functionality. Also we have been unable to send an SNMP trap based on an Advanced Alert.

Thanks for the response. We are going to move the SQL database to a flat drive. Currently its on a Raid5 array (Long time ago). The plan is to install a new drive in the server and copy the database to the new drive and repoint the database in SQL Studio manager to the new location. Does this sound right? Once this is done…

Also just realized you are unable to acknowledge a trap as well in the trap view or message center. This is a big problem for us.

 The current install packages require the server to have Internet access so it can install Microsoft Net Framework 3.5 itself. Even if you have 3.5 already installed the Orion will not check to see if it is installed and wants to install it itself. This is a problem since opne of our Orion servers has no Interent…

Has anyone gotten the alerts to log to a mapped drive?

 We have this same problem on the NPM 9 SP1 running the SQL Express on the same server. On a different server where the SQL is on a different server it works fine.

Is there a way to create thresholds on the UnDP Gauges?

Found it. Had to chose Get_Next instead of get table.

have you aplpied the latest service pack. We just did that and it apepars to have fixed the issue.

We have hundreds of circuits globally. We do not have a NOC per say. We have engineers globally that run monitor systems at our desks. If we are working on something or reading something in another application we may not know of an outage unless we look at the Orion console only. Email alerts are the same as if the email…

Any other ideas/methods? Getting paged on every circuit will get out of hand and alarms will be missed.

Any other programs that can be run to do this? Our other NOC's will NOT run Windows. I am even looking into other platforms that can do this but not finding much - at least what I understand. There has to be software that has better notifications then an email or page.

This is working. Problem was with the selection of Time of peak TODAY. Is there a way to put a time stamp on the peak of yesterday or over a certain time period like 1 hour? Thanks Rob

We are having the same issue. We originally thoght is was the 2G limit of SQL 2005. We increased the limit to 6G and not the CPU bets maxed out when the database maintenance starts. The process never dies until we restart the SQL server. I have opened a case and provided the diagnostics and the SQL deadlock trace. I hope…
