That doc does appear to be outdated. We're polling topology information even from manually added nodes (unless explicitly turned off.) Topology takes a little while to poll, so if you just upgraded to 10.7 GA, try ConnectNow again now. If still no connections, we'd have to engage support to pull diags and explain the delta.

On the nodes not reporting health data, try "List resources" on the individual object (or rediscover entirely.) You should then be able to select the hardware health sensors.

Check out the new "Manage Pollers" grid under settings. From there you can map arbitrary OIDs to CPU / Memory fields.

If the node was unreachable and you did not get an alert, we should investigate the evaluation frequency configured for the alert. The stock reboot alert will fire if last boot has changed, which required the node to come back up so NPM can pull that data.

This is a known issue where if you have a sufficient number of series plotted, it blocks the entire chart. It's definitely annoying, and we will look to improve the usability in the near future.

The ability to display the background SWQL / SQL for canned reports is definitely a known FR- tracked internally as FR310513

If the devices are managed nodes, the Topology resources could display this information if topology information is available. Otherwise UDT would be an option: http://www.solarwinds.com/user-device-tracker.aspx

That isn't present functionality, however NTM (Network Topology | NTM | Network Topology Mapper | SolarWinds) does have some dynamic discovery and export to Network Atlas.

- Sure you can schedule reports. 10.6 has a Win32 app for report scheduling, 10.7 introduces web-based report scheduler. Check under Reports->Manage Reports - Yes, web-based reports (new in 10.6) can have multiple resources / charts - Yes, web-based report resources can have differing time-ranges.

Perhaps there is an IPS involved? Symantec Endpoint Protection on the server could also cause odd behavior.
