Completely understood guys. Our market survey data was a bit skewed with some larger governmental agencies. Based on this, and the reaction of the community at large, it would be unlikely for us to move forward with VPN Concentrator support ahead of ASAs. Now PIXs on the other hand...
-
Yes, this would be the same functionality from SAM- applied to node and interface properties. In terms of the release gap from SAM to NPM, the short answer is aLTeReGo and his band of merry developers just had to be first in delivering it.
-
Challenge accepted... We will certainly consider it.
-
If you are interested in checking out mockups of the improved UnDP functionality with our UX team, please let me know. Same goes for anyone on this thread. Sessions are being scheduled for next week and will run 1 hr. We're excited as to how it's shaping up, and would love your feedback.

Orion should fire audit events on node deletion events. Check out audit event resource details.
-
For those following this thread - Ruckus support has been introduced in 10.7 RC, now available in your customer portal (if under active maintenance.)
-
We typically update our sysobject database with every release. Does that device show up as generic "ASR"? If you could email me a SNMPWalk from that device we'll take a look. (rob.hock{at}solarwinds.com)

What type of traffic are we seeing between the Win7 clients and the print server? SMB I assume?
-
Physical or Virtual, if they are monitored, they would apply to the licensed node / volume count.
-
All depends on how you would like to expose it. A common method would be using "DirectLink" (pg. 364 in the AG: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/orion/docs/orionadministratorguide.pdf)
-
That is precisely the issue. I'll send you a PM with some follow-on questions.
-
11.5 ships with a new "All Configured Alerts" report that could be extended fairly easily to include additional data.
-
Unfortunately we have not been able to reproduce this issue. Would you perhaps be able to open a support ticket and we can grab some diags? http://www.solarwinds.com/support/
-
Certainly not a normal condition. We should probably have our support team dig into it: SolarWinds Customer Support - We're Here to Help
-
Surely, you can use the Custom Property editor to bulk-assign values (Settings->Manage Custom Properties->View/Edit Values->Edit Multiple Values)
-
10.7 RC takes report scheduler and moves it to the web. That would also mitigate this issue. 10.7 RC is available in your customer portal.
-
There are some environmental factors (DNS), but we should be able to handle this circumstance. Would you perhaps be able to open support ticket and let me know the # to follow-up on? http://www.solarwinds.com/support/
-
Not presently, though we do include any notes on security fixes in the release notes for any given release / hotfix. The customer portal would be the best place to locate updates for your products.
-
Certainly not expected behavior. Support ticket would likely be best path forward: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/
-
Check out the DirectLink feature on page 383 of the Admin guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/OrionNPMAdministratorGuide.pdf
-
If you click "customize page" you have the ability to apply view limitations to that page.
-
Are these machines in the same domain as your Orion server? The SOLAR$ would seem to denote the machine account.
-
The Last Boot alert would probably be the best method. Likely the guest OS and / or CMOS time is off. VMWare can do some interesting things with VMWare tools and time synchronization. Basically the guest OS comes up with the CMOS time (which could be wildly off) and it's not until the VMWare tools service (or NTP client)…
-
Perhaps tagging the unwanted volumes with a custom property would be a way to go? This would work pretty well unless you had a ton of them, but for one-off would be manageable.
-
IE8 is getting a bit long in the tooth and doesn't handle javascript and asynchronous resources as well as more modern browsers. It is still a supported browser and we do test the products against it, but if you have the opportunity to use anything more modern (IE11/FF/Chome) it would be advised.
-
Shuja, Apologies- what sort of presentation were you looking to put together?
-
Tanner, It may be best to have our support team dig into this as there are many factors in the discovery process: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/
-
So in your NOC environments, how do you handle recording notes, events, tasks, etc to hand off between staff? For example- "Keep on eye on server Foo- it's been acting flaky." Is that a task in your ticketing system, email, an entry in a spiral-bound book, post-it note? On a different take, do you record notes per machine…
-
Thank you sir- we'll look to get it updated.

The trap config likely wouldn't directly relate to interface detail polling. Would you perhaps be able to post screenshot of an interface detail page?
