Tried running through things again and caught the fact that on my address bar for IE I normally go to http://10.79.39.62/login.asp now it goes to that address and tries to connect for about 45 seconds and then address bar changes to http://10.79.39.62/Orion/SummaryView.aspx and about 20 seconds later the Orion Website…

Got this message from support to try to fix the problem. """"Try this workaround: - Rename \Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion\custom.config.txt to "custom.config" (this causes the ASP.NET->ASP requests to be made as "localhost" rather than using the hostname the browser is using) - Adjust the IIS website to listen on "all…

I too am concerned about the release of 8.5 and how it has been handled. Things that did work are now broken. I think more testing needs to go into the product before release and that hotfixes should be better tested. I don't get warm fuzzies when the approach is - "try this.... oh that didn't work - okay try this" Also…

It is a very vanilla installation. Whatever are the defaults for Orion is what has been used up to this point in. No SSL, no pass through. Tom RIggs Diebold, Inc.

The Last 25 events on the web page will be cleared if someone goes into to system manager and clears the event log.

Tried running this. First there is no SWDiscoveryServices8.dll there was only one with a 9. I tried running that to no no effect. I went back and uninstalled 9.2. Reinstalled 9.0 Same problem. Do I need to go all the way back to 8 to fix this problem?

I did the repair first since I apparently got that message before the change you made. The repair did not work. I then tried the reg edit. That did not work either. Anything else I can do?

Well, it is now working again. After taking the screen shot, I went in and shutdown all the related services I could find that had to do with Solarwinds or Orion. I then rebooted the server twice and magically, mystically it is now working again. I can't explain it, so I don't know what the cause or the fix really was.…

Actually I made a mistake in my first posting. The error actually said "cannot connect to Orionms" which is the name of my Orion Server. It comes up immediately after the Network Manager screen show "Opening Orion Database". Sorry about the confusion. This ticket has been updated to reflect the changes.

Apparently the first try at this didn't work real well so I am trying again We have discovered an issue with the config viewer print feature with Orion 8.5.1 SP3. This issue also appears to have be in previous SPs but we didn’t discover it until this morning. We downloaded a config from one of our field routers and looked…

I am also having a problem with this process. I get the original map. When I try to run the batch file it does update the map. It tries 20 times to te retrieve it but cannot find the file. I have cut and pasted the address in the batch file from the original connection to the site, I have hand entered it, I have cut it and…

I ran across this issue this morning as well. If I run ping from the drop down menu it works, but the ping icon on the right side of the screen it comes up saying "unable to start Ping, Both Hostname and IP address are missing." Tom RIggs Dieebold Incorporated.

I am seeing the same thing on an HP laser printer. 1-3 times a day it shows all these errors. The printer is working fine, and nothing else shows these errors. It is the only device that shows this, and it is very random as to times when it occurs. Very wierd. TR Diebold, Inc.

I reran the the hotfix a second time again with no error during the install. Rebooted the server. Problem remains. Tom RIggs Diebold.
