  • Even though we're primarily a Windows shop, we still have dozens of Ubuntu and SLES servers that have been neglected for years. Being able to patch and audit them through Patch Manager would definitely help to secure and stabilize our environment.

Being able to run pre- and post-patching scripts/commands (on a server level, not an individual update level) would allow for simple tasks like stopping and starting services and even more advanced tasks like calling application APIs and looking for specific return codes prior to patching.   • Being able to define a set of servers with a specific reboot order would be very useful. We have a number of clusters and application stacks (e.g. separate database and application servers) where this feature would remove our need to patch them manually.
