Unfortunately this would not be an option for me..... But I have realised that the FQDN does work only I cannot find anywhere to change how the tools use DNS instead of a single label DNS request (NETBIOS). So The search continues Thanks for the input though

The server I was hosting both the web console and the database has had the database moved to faster hardware. In fact we couldn't be more happy with the database performance at the moment.
