Your best bet is to setup custom pollers for those attributes, like number of users or memory utilization. From there, it'll be a simple step to create advanced alerts based on those pollers.

It's possible if the following conditions are met:* Internet Explorer is the browser * whoever is viewing Orion has Excel installed you could create an iframe that points to your spreadsheet on the web site. This would probably be the easiest method to get this accomplished.

I'm pretty certain such a variable does not exist. You'll probably have to dabble with SQL in order to get this information.
-
I'm not sure if this is possible from the web interface but you can certainly clear out the alerts using the Alert Manager.

Is the Windows Management Instrumentation service started on your ISA server? Do you have a firewall enabled on either your SolarWinds server or the ISA server?
-
As you've described your setup, no, you don't need to specify the node names as part of the trigger condition.

I'm just spitballing here so forgive me if these questions are too obvious. I assume <UNKNOWN> is actually supposed to be the hostname or IP address of the server with high traffic utilization? Is it possible that the Orion server is trying to lookup the hostname and when it fails, forwards the trap with the <UNKNOWN>…

The closest I've come to something like this is sending Message: along with whatever text I want to delivered. There's a couple of problems with this: * It only works with scripts as far as I know * It's sort of a kludge since the text that you pass along to Message: appears in the green info box under Component Status. It…

Java Management Console? Which application is this for? Is there a corresponding process that's launched in conjunction with this console?
-
What do you mean by turnover? Do you mean the rate at which volume space is used up or something else entirely?
-
You almost had it. You just need to place the IP address condition into their own group as follows: Hope this works for you.

Unfortunately, there's no functionality that allows you to customize the "out of box" reports. However, since you mentioned nDepth, why not use that? You can save your search (query) and then export the results which will include a number of different ways to represent your data visually. You can even schedule those…

What kind of alerts are these? Are they using WMI or SNMP? Do the alerts trigger the same time everyday?

There have been requests in the past for a feature in Orion to automatically generate mobile views for BlackBerrys and other smartphones. I don't recall if Solarwinds has committed themselves to this feature and if so, when it would be expected. I've resorted to creating custom mobile views myself and using a separate…

I have LEM and need to meet the following requirements 6 month retention for log files profzoom1, what are your average write and read IOPS on your LEM appliance? Also, how quickly do reports complete for you on average?

What you can do is create a new resource based off of the 01-AllNodes.Resource. Then simply add the column header and column data so that this additional information is displayed. There is no method built into Orion to create this resource so this will obviously need to be done manually.

I thought that would be the function of the Response Window. colby explained that pretty well in another thread.

Here are at least a couple of options for you. I can't say I've had any experience with them though. NuDesign SNMPv3 / HTTP Master Agent Service for Microsoft Windows net-snmp

I was unable to duplicate this problem. What version of NPM do you have installed?

Assuming temperature can be reported through SNMP, you'll need to create a Universal Device Poller (UnDP) for this. You can either browse through the manufacturer's MIB file or perform an SNMP walk to find the correct OID for this statistic.

There are already separate syslog and trap viewers. Is there any particular reason why you'd like them all combined?

Since the MS Word Viewer installation used MSI installer (maybe with the logging feature enabled by default), it makes sense that this installation was logged in the Events Viewer. There's no requirement for other software developers to use the same technology for their installation routines. Unfortunately, I don't believe…
