...I am just wondering if there is anything that you can suggest I look into to find out why some respond and others do not.... You mean respond to your SNMP sweep? If so, it's probably because the devices either 1) don't have SNMP enabled, 2) a firewall is blocking SNMP requests to them or 3) the SNMP credentials have…

I am not a perl or oracle person so trying to get this time work is a bit over my head. anyone have any ideas? I'm not one either but looking over the script, it seems like the script is hitting a web page ( servername:7779/_oracle_http_server_webcache_static_.html). If so and it finds the words "OracleAS Web Cache is up"…

As a hack, you *could* simply replace the 'help' and 'edit' images with a small transparent gif. Granted, this will affect everyone so it's not a perfect solution.

Wouldn't the Community Strings for each Node report work for you? Any node that doesn't list a string would probably be configured for ICMP.

Sorry, no help here since I don't have that Orion module. I just wanted to politely refer you to the following forum which might better assist you. Wireless Network Monitor

I believe the contents of More Info is made available through the ${StatusOrErrorDescription} variable. Is it not working for you?

Akamai (akamaitechnologies.com) and LimeLight Networks (llnw.net) are two Content Delivery Networks (CDN) that host a lot of the streaming media (both video and audio) going over the Internet. There are many other CDNs but I believe these may be the most popular, based on the information I'm seeing in NTA. These CDNs have…

I don't know if any of the existing application monitor templates for IIS in the Content Exchange area include a component monitor for w3wp.exe. If not, you can certainly add it yourself using any one of many methods made available to you by APM. * Using the Application Discovery wizard, you can have application monitors…

Check out Admin > Polling Settings and down towards the bottom under the Calculations & Thresholds section, you should see the Node Warning Level setting. As it explains, this setting will Mark devices as down that have not responded for configured time. Keep in mind that this is a global setting so it will accelerate down…

Are these both the same version and service pack levels? Are the sample intervals the same between both graphs? It almost looks like the database was getting hit hard and couldn't record statistics (only for this interface?) during the time periods that these gaps represent.

You'd want something like the following. Keep in mind that this will be a new alert, separate from the other volume alert you have for the rest of your servers. In the other alert, you might want to include this node an exception so that it's not redundant, i.e. receive two volume alerts for this server.

I believe that APM consists of the following services: SolarWinds Job Scheduler and SolarWinds Job Engine. Try shutting down the scheduler first and then the engine and restarting in the same order to see if it helps.

Applications were listed in System Manager in the legacy Application Monitor. The new Application Performance Monitor (released early this year) is completely web-based. As far as I know, APM never listed applications in the System Manager. I believe SolarWinds is slowly moving to a platform where Orion will be completely…

Is there a batch file you can create or other external console utility that can automate this for you? If so, you might be able to accomplish this using Execute an external program alert action.

Could you post your SQL query, specifically the ORDER BY part of it?

Also what would be cool is to have a custom round gauge like those you use for CPU load or gauge on response time. Isn't there a resource you can add called "Universal Device Poller - Radial Gauge"?
-
I had something like this happen once but since it was a fluke, I didn't go any further with it. In that case, I simply restarted the SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor service and the graph updated properly.

I assume you're trying to create a historical traffic report? Are you looking for average traffic and average utilization over a period of time?
-
Are you trying to add another tab or are you looking to add a menu entry to the existing VIRTUALIZATION tab?

I don't know if you have an established standard or policy regarding the configuration of your servers but since you posed this question, it sounds like you have an option here. It's been my personal opinion to separate OS and data wherever possible. If you need to completely rebuild the OS for some reason, it's some…

Assuming you have APM, there is a bundled application called APMServiceControl.exe. You would use the alert action Execute an external program to launch this application and pass the component ID of the application component. You can find more information in the APM admin guide under the section titled Restarting Windows…

Only if you're willing to interact with the database directly by modifying the AlertIDs.
-
Maybe I'm missing something here but assuming it's currently mounted, couldn't you add it as one of the node's resources to monitor? Then simply create an alert whenever the volume status is not up.
-
You can somewhat accomplish this now by modifying the source code of integration icons. Keeping in mind that 1) it's not supported and 2) changes to this file will affect the integration icons for all nodes. The file you're looking to modify is \Orion\NetPerfMon\Controls\IntegrationIcons.ascx in the case of your first…

Active alerts refer to alerts that have been triggered. To see a list of enabled alerts, just click Configure Alerts and those checked are enabled.
-
An alert should not reset if it was never triggered. Did you define this 15 minute delay as part of the Alert Escalation tab or Trigger Condition tab?
-
If you're ok with having these comments displayed in the "Down Nodes" resource instead of the event summary, check out following thread. Has anyone combined a ticket field with a node name and status field.....

Here's a suggestion for "gripe" #3. You could subscribe to the "SolarWinds Announcements" forum so that you receive an e-mail notification whenever a new post is created in that forum. Since only SolarWinds staff can post in that forum you'll probably only get a notification once every week, sometimes only once a month. I…
