HI @"maciej.sandecki" I have a look as suggested and here are the settings: it is slightly confusing so not sure whether this should be checked or need to leave it unchecked for it to work? also, I did checked this box and then restarted the services after that I checked netstat but still couldn't see it listening on port…

hi @"vinay.by" , I am using an orion local account with full.permissions for now. I have checked and I can login to normal web portal via this account. sorry what do you mean by allowing extended IPs? if you mean windows firewall? if so, that has been disabled already

Hi @"LeBeauUK" thanks for your swift response. the SSL cert on Solarwinds is expired however, the solarwinds server is behind a reverse proxy that performs SSL auth for the clients. having said that when we bypass the riverse proxy we still get the same error. Also, we are using IP address instead of hsotname. also, since…

hi cjfranca Thanks for looking into this. I can see a path there from 10.1.3 (2012) but my NPM is currently running 10.1.1 (core 2010). It will be useful if I could get a path from 10.1.1 unless the upgrade sequence for both 10.1.1 and 10.1.3 is the same as its just a minor version? look forward to hearing from you soon.…

Thanks, so provided that my nodes are added manually. I should not see any problems because of the upgrade? as it will only wipe out discovery profiles that are dynamic way of adding nodes?

Hi, These are the option I am seeing regarding discovery in the settings: » Manage Nodes » Add a Node » VMware Settings » Network Sonar Discovery » Manage Dependencies » Manage Groups as you can see there's no discover my network or discovery central option there?

Sorry forgot to mention that its NPM 10.1.1 that we are on at the moment with Orion Core Version 2010.2.1. Thanks again

Hi Leny, Thanks for your swift response. The link provided is very helpful but it doesn't describe the path from NPM 10.1.1? Do you know what would I need to do to upgrade from 10.1.1? the link provided shows path from 10.1.3 Regards, Khan

Hi, Yes, this is possible. I am currently running three NOC views: what you have to do is that go to settings in NPM portal-->Created NOC views and then create as many NOC views that you want. Hope this helps. Qasim

Sorry last one. Can you tell me how to check the existing Discovery profiles? I am a little confused as I can we have about 1k nodes that divided into groups but can see any discovery statement? Regards, Qasim
-
Just to add to the above, I have just had a look and I believe all our nodes are added manually. as there are only default discovery profile with no configurations in? does that sounds right? As you can tell I am new to solarwinds but tasked with this upgrade. your guidance on this will be highly appreciated? regards,

Hi silverbacksays/humejo, Thanks for your swift response. Actually my plan is to upgrade to 11.5 but as we are on such an old version I have to upgrade 10.3.1. Also our software is running on a 2003 box with sql 2005 so there's another step tp migrate solarwinds to 2012R2. back to the main topic: any idea what part of the…

Hi Cjfranca, Thanks for your reply. Not sure what you mean by port? as you know VPN is virtual and a single physical link is shared by multiple VPN connections. I would like to be alerted when even one of the VPN connections drops. Regards, Qasim

Thank you guys. I went for Lynchnigel method but both were very helpful. Regards,
